Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – The One Who Got Us Out Lyrics 19 years ago
I really hate this song. Not because it's a bad song, but simply because it's such a letdown. It starts out as this huge song, hyped with tons of energy and then he just decides in the middle that it's going to lose that completely and turn into a really bad dirge.

Tsk Tsk Mr. Leo, you've let me down.

Panic! at the Disco – Build God, Then We'll Talk Lyrics 19 years ago
In the vein of classic storytellers, Panic at the Disco has a little ditty about a hooker. Take from it what you will, but these aren't exactly esoteric lyrics that are being fervently deciphered. It's about a hooker, period. Take from that what you will.

Kanye West – Gold Digger Lyrics 20 years ago
On the contrary, I believe Kanye West to be among the best in the sphere of hip-hop, and among musicians today in general.

The song is self explanatory yes, but its comedic lyrics make it worthwhile. Certainly much more entertaining and catchy than MANY bands of ANY genre making music today.

The thing that distinguishes Kanye from the rest of the hip-hop community is his actualy attention to the music...and he is truly a musician unlike most other rap acts today. If you actually listen to his songs, you realize that he's doing things musically many musicians fail to do. But then again if you think the three power chord format is the height of musicianship, you shouldn't really be judging music to begin with.

It's catchy, it's fun, it's good music.
