I always imagined this song was about a woman who got away with murder. The cops weren't smart enought to figure out who the killer was so she finally sent them a letter to give them a clue, and she told him about how she killed and that he had to leave, so he wouldn't get caught up in it, so she boards herself up in her apartment waiting for the cops to come get her, she felt guilty she had to come clean. I don't know.... yeah it makes a lot more sense that the song would be about prostitution. |

I think it's about wishing you were a stronger person. And dealing with being human and having a heart and having it broken. It's also about wishing you couldn't be broken, wishing you were stong enough to stand your ground. But also not hurting anyone like the ocean doesn't hurt the beach. idk. that's just what I gather. |
