I think this whole song is about hope. i had a friend who kept a candle in his pocket he used to touch it when the wind was blowing high i guess it made him feel like he could buck the system and when it flickered out we laid him down to die There was a man who had some hope and always counted on it when things were going bad. I think this song is about two people who have a very close relation with eachother, though they ain't lovers. -It kills me not to know this but I've all but just forgotten What the color of her eyes were and her scars or how she got them- He remembers everything about the girl, knows everything about her. But he's afraid he might forget -As the telling signs of age rain down, a single tear is dropping Through the valleys of an aging face that this world has forgotten- My guess is the girl is older then him, she had a few bad experiences and talked with him about it. This song will have a different meaning to everyone. Probably a lot of teens will understand the pain of a broken heart. I think this song is about someone who lies/cheats on him. She comes back, wanting him, but never apologizing. A few times he forgave her. But now he's tired of it. He sees her as his suicide, killing himself. He knows that taking her back will be a big mistake he made before - 'I need you like a heart needs a beat. But it's nothin new' - He now knows she can't be trusted and wants to end it. But she starts apologizing. The words she says leave him speechless. He can't say a thing. She tells him he means everything to her. When in a relation you should be able to completely trust eachother in everything you do. When you make a mistake but are forgiven for it, don't make the same mistake again. When you do, you won't be forgiven again. No matter how much the other loves you, it'll be suicide to that one. I don't really know, but to me this song is about trust. In a relationship, no matter if it's with friends, family or your lover, trust is the most important thing. |
