| I think this song may have something to do with a drinking problem or drinking alcohol. It's probably not the main point of the song but there are a few things that pull me in that direction. It seems like its saying she (or someone) drinks to find their way, make a decision of some kind, or escape. "You say you want a revelation, revel in this my lover" Kind of a play on words, revelationmeans to discover something, revel means to get drunk. "The edge once a night you will drive yourself there, At the end of the road you will find the answer, At the end of the road you will drink the fear" kind of a blantant statement, no explanation needed. I'm not really sure about the rest..... | |

I was reading an article with Brody and she said that this album was written simultaneously to the divorce. She said that she told Tim she wanted out and went back to Austrailia to stay with her mom and step dad. She said she wanted the songs to have diffferent meanings to everyone, hense all of the vague metaphors. She also said that most, if not all were influenced by her feelings during the ending of her and Tim's relationship and if you look deep enough you would be able to see her meaning. I think that this song is about Tim begging her to stay with him. Him looking at her with "holy eyes" meaning he doesn't understand why she's leaving, making her out to be that bad guy. It's killing her to leave him but she knows its the right thing. "I know, I know, don't go." Answering to his pleas. "Hold on to the memory its all you got, I know you'll be there to soak up blood lost, blood lost, blood loss." What she says to Tim, saying it hurts but he will be alright. |
