| I've been thinking about the role that pop music has had in music in general and I've come to this conclusion. There is no reason to hate pop music just because it's got shallow lyrics our because the front members don't actually write or play their own music. Look at Frank Sinatra, he probably didn't write all his songs and he certainly doesn't play the instruments, but his tunes are catchy, he's good a good voice and a good appeal. Does that make me respect him any less? NO! Then there is Elvis Presely, who is probably one of the few guys out there who got more screaming fans than these boy bands. He didn't write most of his music and wasn't a fantastic guitarist, but he was still able to get a revolutionary music style on it's feet just with his appearance and such. Pretty much all you kids are worked up about boy bands and how much they suck because you don't recognize the different between music as an art form and music as entertainment. I'll admit I didn't like all these boy band when they were big, but that was because I was a foolish 10 year old or something who thought that green day, which tries to portray their music as artistic and actually try to say something but fail miserably, and other bands like them were good. At least these boy bands don't fake it and know that they are just for the entertainment and are good at that. | |

| People need to stop using the term emo, it's just annoying and genres create too many divisions. If you like it great, explain why, don't just say because it's emo. Also, what's wrong with a band being on the radio? They need to make money somehow. Just because they are starting to get popular doesn't mean they are gonna get worse. Also, I know they are a Christian band, but I definitely don't think this song is about Jesus. I don't think that when he died that he carried on a lie. It seems more to be the writer's reaction to something tragic. | |
