| Definitely agree with him wondering where he's from and the rest of what you're thinking, Cloud, but im also wondering if he's been doing something bad himself. Because he's obviously biting his tongue (But not I, I won't ask) and if so, could that mean he's red handed as well? or is there some other metaphor that can match his hands to his tongue? | |

so i'm listening to the albums alltogether, and i don't think its about ms terris past...i think she's still working those streets and this song is about the lies of where she runs off to. excuses she makes to tell the kid...hence "We dance around the truth, my dear I lie for you, " and then the next line "but when I lie down, I’m simply lying to them too. " is about life as a prostitute, and how she has to fake enjoyment for the clients |

I definitely don't think this is your normal boy/girl love song as many assume, though yes, you're always free to interpret songs as you wish, of course. What I'm thinking, though, is that this particular song is about people who obsess about people in bands. How many times have you heard someone say "I LOVE (insert band members name here.) many, many times I'm sure. Thus why he asks "baby, is this love for real?" Its not, its just fan lust. celebrity crushes. but so often bands are obsessed about by raging fans, you can imagine it starts to get on their nerves a bit, when they realize someones listening for reasons besides the music. Also With that idea in mind, its pretty self explainitory "you, you gotta get away from me cause you, you want nothing to do with me" basically something like "take a step back. you don't really want me" he feels they just like the idea of him as a musician and of course: "in spite of you of you even out of view still I love all of you i do, yeah" through all of this, no matter how outrageous fanatics can sometimes be, he still loves his them. |
