The Postal Service – The District Sleeps Alone Tonight Lyrics 19 years ago
every time I hear the 30 seconds or so of this, the words from the DCfC song Your Bruise come into my head -
its a backwards attraction/to your forward eyes - just because of the congruent rythym. outside of that, Ben has always had a way of not only writing excellent lyrics, but using language that flows. every line in this song is pleasant on the ears. there is a sort of meter there that makes the song bounce off the tongue.

Franz Ferdinand – Michael Lyrics 19 years ago
Now stop me if I'm wrong... but I looked long and hard at the liner notes. The line where it says "COME AND DANCE WITH ME" really is a typewriter line of XX's over a line that says "SO COME ALL OVER ME". I sware it.. I have not caught teh fagz0rz or anything, but that really is what it says. Somebody with the album - back me up on this!

Brian Wilson – Roll Plymouth Rock Lyrics 19 years ago
As with most of smile, it is as it should be that this track is virtually indistinguishable from the other parts of the first section.
But I still like my original studio bootleg better.

Death Cab for Cutie – Champagne from a Paper Cup Lyrics 20 years ago
Despite the real meaning, just the sound of this song captured just the right mood. Its just a little angry, but still pretty mellow. And how can you top "sad-sorry state, stutter step to those slammin' grooves"? You can't, that's how.

Brian made this as a driving force in Smile to make the listener do just that - smile. How can you not smile when listening to this beautiful little jingle?

Beulah – A Man Like Me Lyrics 20 years ago
This song kind of brings about a revelation for me - its not always what the lyrics are about; the tone of this song in general say it all.
