a view inspired by the single cover, but i think edward casts himself as something of a romantic poet, revelling in the perfection of his verse, and goes into self parody - "my accuracy it's quite unnerving" etc... just the way he goes oh its so lovely, isnt it brilliant? oh no shes dead! and then desperately tries to get us to share his apparent pain. mocks romanticism a bit, its a welcome twist |

jeff lewis is so good, id say hes the next big thing but so many people just wouldnt get it i guess.... oh well i love this song, its just melancholic enough for my mood recently, and ive never heard such a surreally beautiful image as the thing about the scum in the bridge bit. so kudos just for that. i wish i knew where all these places were in NY, ill go there one day..... |
