The All-American Rejects – It Ends Tonight Lyrics 18 years ago
I kinda like to think that it's about various sides of himself...it's all internal. Like, his subconcious is betraying him...I dunno.

OK Go – Let It Rain Lyrics 18 years ago
I feel this song might be about suicide. I don't know why, but I just get the feeling that she's trying to overdose or something...well never mind.

Anyway, I think that this song is about dying inside. There's a lot of things like "super automatic pilot" self-sustaining system" and "cruise control" to suggest that this person is just going about the normal routine, pretending that everything's fine when in reality, there's a huge crisis going on inside of them.
Also, I dunno if I'm right about this but instead of "distressed, her" I always heard "disaster" so the line would be "cruise control disaster kinda cursed and kinda blessed her" ... maybe this means that whoever it was just went along, pretending everything was fine, possible drinking away her sadness, when all of a sudden something happened and made "cruise control" go wrong and she couldn't keep acting like it was fine and so there was this huge meltdown and...and...I dunno. I'm getting carried away.

Jason Mraz – Life Is Wonderful Lyrics 19 years ago
This song pretty much means just what it says: Life Is Wonderful. The ups, the downs, the good the bad, it all works to make beautiful life.

"it takes some cold to know the sun "
"it takes some fears to make you trust"
"it takes some tears to make it rust"
Those have to be my 3 favorite lines.

Jason Mraz – Clockwatching Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree it is about running out of time. I agree that it is about sex. I think the message is something like "We're running out of time, so let's throw caution out the window and just have sex as much as possible". But in a more beautiful way, of course.

This song baffles me (which if rare)

All I have to say is that this song breaks my heart.

Anna Nalick – In My Head Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's not about any specific person, just she's lonely, and when she's alone at night, she has these fairy tale dreams that she holds onto. She doesn't want to admit to herself how truely alone she is, I think the song is directed to her fairy tales.

Anna Nalick – Forever Love (Digame) Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's more about a belief than a specific person or thing, and she really wants to go on living for this belief, but needs assurace that it's for real, other times, she's positive of her faith.

It's totally different from her other songs, but still one of my favorites

Jack Johnson – Constellations Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's just about looking at the stars, and the bigness of the sky, and being so small compared to the the heavens. But they contributed to the bigness, and made their own constellations" becoming part of the sky and world, and just added their drop of memories to the stars. The sound of this song give me a terrible feeling however, that somehting tragic was about to happen or had just happened...I can't really expain the feeling though. They're just part of the big picture.

Jack Johnson – If I Could Lyrics 19 years ago
Somebody is born, somebody dies, and time gets on, we get older. The grain of sand dropping is like an hourglass, symbolizing time that can't be stoped. It reminds me of Anna Nalick's "Breathe" I absolutly love both songs.

Jack Johnson – Crying Shame Lyrics 19 years ago
I really like the line:
Is it in our blood or is it in our fate?
Because it's so true, it's both. Humans just fight because we are humans, it's our fate to fight and die. How depressing, if ya think about it.

Jack Johnson – Staple It Together Lyrics 19 years ago
I absolutly love the lines:
and every brick he laid
a mistake they say
that his walls are getting taller
his world is getting smaller
I just totally relate to the feeling of you're doing all the wrong things and digging your hole deeper and deeper and you want to stop but you also like it that way, and can't really stop yourself...

I always thought red and white was the colors the satelitte was flashing too. Well, she's just kinda calling out, into the unknown, waiting on God, just hoping that he'll help her.

Anna Nalick – Paper Bag Lyrics 20 years ago
I think it's really the least deep of all her songs, but also one of my favs. The girl doesn't fit in, everyone makes fun of her, but soon she'll grow up, and they'll all see how beautiful she really is. Meanwhile, she'll hide and ignore them, just waiting to turn into a butterfly. she just keeps smileing, because she knows that somday they'll be old and ugly, and she'll be beautiful.

Anna Nalick – Breathe (2 A.M.) Lyrics 20 years ago
So I think it's all about mistakes. In the first verse, someone's getting over a bad time n their life, and trying to get back on track. I just kinda always pictured a drug rehab place or somthing like that. Like, she walks in, and everyone looks at her like they think she's a bad person, but they're all there because they're trying to get over the same stuff as her. Then in the second verse, I always kinda pictured her brother, he turned 21 and he was almost back on track, (on the base of fort bliss) but then he screwed up agian and she wants to comfort him, and help him, and singing is how she does that. So she's watching all her friends and family make these mistakes, and trying to fix them best they can, and wishing they could go back in time and fix it, but they can't and this is her reaction. A great song, powerful lyrics, and moving acustic music. Then at the end, she kinda remembers her own mistakes, and what she learned, and the bottom line is that you can't go back. You just make do with the presant time and hope it's enough.

KT Tunstall – Black Horse and the Cherry Tree Lyrics 20 years ago
K, so she's going along with her life, and suddenly, a choice appears. She has to choose between the Horse (evil, scary, but she kinda want's to pick him) or the cheery tree (peace, calmness, security) and she knows that the cheery tree is the right one, but she kinda wants the horse anyways. So she chooses the tree really decidedly, hoping that if she sounds sure to the rest of the world, she will be sure. So she moves on, but cannot forget the horse that she didn't choose. Her heart wanted the horse, but her mind knew the tree was the right choice, and she followed her mind. This cuased her to start thinking like this always (her heart stopped for a beat or two) and she stopped feeling things and always went with the logical desicion. She sent her heart back to the desicion, and let her heart do as it pleased, and it didn't return to her, meaning she tried to feel with her heart instead of her mind, and her heart just stayed at that same place, and dwelled on that mistake while her mind went on. Her mind keeps on telling her she made the right choice, but her heart is gone and she's empty.

Anna Nalick – Satellite Lyrics 20 years ago
She's definatly getting over a hard relationship. I think by a "two way radio" she means where she communicates, in a way, with the world through music. So she's desperate, and getting out of a relationship, and she sees a satallite up in the sky, and it gives her somthing to hang on to.

On a deeper level, she is lonely, and just all around sad. So she may be clinging onto the satallite simply becuase she needs somthing to hang onto. And she knows that the satallite is sending information down to earth, and humans are sending info up to it. So she sings her feeble plea to this satallite " Satallite, save my life" in hopes that someone up there will hear her and care. She's reaching out, and just praying that the satillite, up in space, recieveing and sending massive amounts of information, will get her message. It's like, she's indirectly calling on God to help her. Yes, I definatly think the satillite is a symbol for God, and she just hopes she get's through.

That's just kinda the way I feel right now, so it's just my interrpretation...

Anna Nalick – In The Rough Lyrics 20 years ago
I think SHE may be the diamond. She was in a relationship, and he was not careful, and he hurt her. She realizes that if he doesn't appriciate her, he's not worth it.

Also, it could be somthing other than her. Maybe he had a good life, or job, or was in a good relationship, and he was careless and just wasted it away. He "fell" while "holding diamonds."

Anna Nalick – Consider This Lyrics 20 years ago
Basicly, she's a complete wreck and she's ok with it. Also, if you're out to change her, you better not, cause she won't change. It's really not that deep.

Anna Nalick – Catalyst Lyrics 20 years ago
From and anaylicital point of view, she's trying to save somone from self-abuse, but in the process get's caught up in it herself. The L.A. lights are a metaphor for the problem...the self-abuse problem seems so fun, so flashy, but then you get there and it's smoggy, dirty, and dangerous.

Anna Nalick – Catalyst Lyrics 20 years ago
I don't have anything to support this, and it's probably just my interpretation, but I think it's about home-sickness. Of course, I'm from L.A. and I really don't like how romanticied it is. But the thing is, even though it's dirty, and dangerous, and smoggy and where we live now is technicly a better place, L.A. is my home and it always will be. So this song just makes me homesick, but I really doubt that's the meaning...just my feeling. But that's what music is all about right? How it makes the listener feel.

Bob Dylan – Knockin' on Heaven's Door Lyrics 20 years ago
To me, the badge is power and the gun is a way to enforce the power. Bob Dlyan had a huge influence over America. Like, sometimes, you're just sick of having people around, waiting for you to tell them what to do. You try to be yourself, and give up the power, but you can't. You're just expressing yourself, and all of a sudden you have everyone trying to be like you then you can be like you and you get swallowed up in your own power. At that point, you realize your own morality and just wanna die. Or at least that's how i feel when I hear this song.

Rammstein – Amerika Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree that this song is mainly a protest against American culture spreading throughout the world. I for one don't like American culture in America. But, I absolutly detest this song. The sound of it is just so ugly to me. It sounds hard, and sneaky, and it doesn't help that every time I hear it it's being blasted on cheap stereos throughout the entire house. The message is great, but I hate the sound.

Eagles – Hotel California Lyrics 20 years ago
This song may have just been thrown together, but it can still have a deeper meaning to some. Just look at what all it COULD be about. Drugs, cults, sex, satanic worshipping it could be anything. Nobody really knows what the artist was thinking of when he wrote this song, regardless of how reliable the source. The point is, music is like poetry, it doesn't matter what it's supposed to mean. What does matter is what it means to the listener. That's the real purpose of music: to touch the listener. When you think about what to song is supposed to mean you kill it.

Avril Lavigne – Why Lyrics 20 years ago
I for one really love this song. It's so sad, and the lyrics are just completly expressive. The sole gitar in the backround makes it sound very pure and clean. I wish she had put it on the main CD... I think it's definatly her best yet.

The Black Eyed Peas – My Humps Lyrics 20 years ago
Let's just think about what messages this song is sending to middle-school and high-school girls. Basicly, I think it's telling them that if they have big boobs and a nice ass they get guys to like them.
Now, let's think about the message to guys: "Do whatever it takes to get the girls with big boobs and nice asses because they're the best kind."

Is this what we want american youth to think? I admit, it has good music and a great beat. It's a catchy song, but the message is one of the worst I've heard.

Kelly Clarkson – Where Is Your Heart Lyrics 20 years ago
I think she has a friend who is going through a hard time and she thinks he should be opening up to her and realying on her and she was all ready to catch him when he fell, but as he fell, he caught himself, and she feels as if he doesn't need her. This causes her to quetion the entire relationship/

Anna Nalick – Citadel Lyrics 20 years ago
One more thing I forgot:
"Home" I think refers to where she belongs, not physicly, but where she belongs in society and maybe she knows sub-consiusly that the citadel is her home, and she's afraid that if she falls she'll never go back. She'll just be like the rest forever.

Anna Nalick – Citadel Lyrics 20 years ago
I think she's holding on to her values, or her dreams, or even herself. She's on this platform, above the rest, set apart from them because she refused to conform and be like them. She want's to keep her own identity, but at the same time, she is lonely and just wants to jump off the platform in the sky and conform, just to have a friend. The human nature in her is telling her to jump off and be like the rest in order to survive, but she knows that thats just not who she is and that it would not be true to herself. The song represents a struggle everyone goes through at one time or another.
