Black Kids – Love Me Already Lyrics 16 years ago
It's, "Teddy and I, we kept it all on the sly", not "slide"

It's definitely 'pulling a shape.' It's a colloquial term that means 'to dance.'

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – In This Home on Ice Lyrics 19 years ago
I've got a take on this verse:

Now that we fattened the cow
And set out to plow unknown enemies
"Wow!" shouts the startled crowd "Now now did you see what i did see?"
The ravaged cabbage drifts on dark red skies
And it looks so nice
Gee it looks so nice

The 'ravaged cabbage' could be the mushroomed head of an atomic bomb.

"The ravaged cabbage drifts on dark red skies
And it looks so nice
Gee it looks so nice"

Tongue-in-cheek

Morrissey – I Have Forgiven Jesus Lyrics 20 years ago
You're right--on something--who cares if he is gay or straight--but that's how we interpreted the song. That's just the first thing that comes to mind when he says Jesus gave him a desire and he doesn't know what to do with that desire..in the end, does it really matter if he is gay/straight. not to me.

I think you just need to deal with one of the artists that you likes just might be a homosexual. Get over yourself.

Hey nightandday...on here it asks what the song means to us...that's just how we interpreted it.

If you read it in context, the way he used "desires" is pretty much sexual. Deal with it.

Weezer – The Good Life Lyrics 20 years ago
The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory...and, yes..I feel we all can relate. As we get older, we have more responsibilities and getting a chance to "go out" eventually becomes a luxury rather than a lifestyle.

Mates of State – Parachutes (Funeral Song) Lyrics 20 years ago
I think this song uses skydiving as metaphor for a marriage (or possibly a romance) that although was short-lived, they were a better person for it. Some say it's better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all. It seems that they are trying to get that across with this line: "But what I had between the things I never tried Was you reaching out in hopes to hold your hand [...]I'd say I'm better 'cause I lived before I died.
At least I know you tried"

Morrissey – I Have Forgiven Jesus Lyrics 20 years ago
What I think he is trying to convey in this song is that he feels deserted by Jesus, because he feels he has no control over his sexual desires, since there is "nothing [he] can do with [his] desires." He feels alienated by the world that he was placed in. He could have been fashioned just like the masses--heterosexual- but he wasn't. He wonders if Jesus hates him because he was placed on the road less traveled. Almost like a guinea pig used for experimentation by God. Makes a valid argument to those who say that homosexuality is a choice and that you're not born that way. Morrissey doesn't seem to agree with that. He feels his desires aren't something he chose. Who chooses to live a lifestyle that most people ridicule? I think some people may experiment with homosexuality, but for him, I think he's trying to say that he has no control over it...his desires were inherently placed within him. It would be easier if he didn't have those desires..why him? Why was he made this way. He has no control over it....it's just part of who he is.
