Muse – Psycho Lyrics 10 years ago
Did the opening riff of this song (chorus riff too) remind you of the little jam they used to play at the end of Stockholm Syndrome live?

Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo7OegTKN8E from 2006 at 5:10. Fun stuff.

Muse – MK Ultra Lyrics 16 years ago
If you are into the MK ultra thing, few things for you to check out (I know Muse would be proud of me for spreading the conspiracy theories around LOL)

Do some reading on the People's Temple in particular, the Jonestown event. Some believe this place was a testing ground for MK ultra. Hyper-inducing drugs to try to brainwash people and make them believe whatever. The Mass suicide that took place there was also believed to be an extermination caused by the CIA. And speaking of the CIA, Jim Jones, the leader of the People's Temple, was believed to have been working with the CIA.

The docter the head project MK Ultra was Sidney Gottlieb (an interesting read). He'd inject barbituates in one arm and simultaneously inject amephetamines in the patients other arm. He was also behind several assassination attempts made by the CIA.

Muse – Exogenesis: Symphony Part 2 (Cross-Pollination) Lyrics 16 years ago
This is my favorite out of the 3 course deal, though its hard to choose. I love when it breaks into the "spread your codes to the stars" part...it always gives me goosebumps its so good. I agree with the interpretations with the panspermia/exogenesis ideas. After all, the suite is named Exogenesis...

Dream Theater – Never Enough Lyrics 16 years ago
Prophets of War and Never Enough were the first two songs to hook me into DT. Muse is my personal favorite band, and when I heard these songs I had to know more. I think the similarities between these songs and standard muse is the use of short arpeggio's and for Never Enough, the active bass part with the guitar mimicking the same part. I have to give kudos to DT too. Black Clouds $ Silver Linings > The Resistance.

The Fratellis – Baby Doll Lyrics 16 years ago
The part I love the most and I feel most of us guys could relate with...

"and they laughed when you said you was leaving,
everybody knows you well 'cept for me cant you tell?"

"They" knew it wasn't gonna work, and on the outside of the drama, its kinda funny...dude tries for the impossible, gets knocked down, and gets the "I told ya so" treatment, where on the otherside of the fence the dude is blinded by hope and believes he has a chance. Hopeless romantic shit. I know there are a lot more guys out there that are and don't want to admit it, but you know this brought back memories too :P

Queens of the Stone Age – River In the Road Lyrics 17 years ago
Gobo brings up a good point. The first time I listened to this song I heard the siren and then the drums come in. Might have significance. Perhaps a mob of people on a "witchhunt" (not to make a pun on "Burn The Witch") so to speak. We don't know anything about the character's history, so it's like catching a movie during the climatic moment. My favorite song on the album right along with "Into the Hollow".

The Decemberists – Shiny Lyrics 17 years ago
I was excited to get my hands on a copy of this EP, for I found my love for this band with Castaways and Cutouts, and was unaware of this EP. I've been listening to this song for years, and I still am just as entranced as I was when I first heard it. I love the "light" references in the beginning "pretty twining light" and near the end "The light and the half light".

Earlimart – Don't Think About Me Lyrics 17 years ago
During the lil interlude thing I always thing of people doing synchronized shopping at a supermarket with cheesy smiles and 50's style products...

The Black Maria – 11:11 Lyrics 18 years ago
Something I just thought of while in the shower, while trying to figure out what this song means, is the significance of the title 11:11. I know that a lot of people say "make a wish" when it hits that time...maybe something with that...or it could be like a time of death dealy. I dunno just something to think about.

The Black Maria – 11:11 Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree this is a great song. I'm always for the waltz type deals. I'm not too sure what this is about. But the whole last verse makes it sound like it's a car accident. Everything would agree with this except I don't see where the whole "Artist's Guilt" thing would play in. If it indeed is a car accident, it's kinda creepy thinking about the "soon they'll be nobody here."

Muse – Blackout Lyrics 20 years ago
Props to MattieCamp, I'm glad I wasn't the only one to realize that you can waltz to this song...which made it even more emotional to me...it's such a beautiful slow song and you can do a formal ballroom dance to it!
