I always have interpreted this song as... the time in your life when you're done with college, are broke as a joke, and have nothing going for you, but you still feel excited because you are done with school and have a lot of life to look forward to. You feel like you are beholden to no one, I guess. |

AIRPORT, I made an account on this site to tell you how utterly and completely I agree with your take on this song. When I listen to this song, I do not notice one iota of religious reference, and I also agree that though many of his songs are introspectively spiritual, he is not overtly religious in ANY of his songs, and this is why I respect him so much. |
