The Presidents of the United States of America – Dune Buggy Lyrics 19 years ago
You are retarded... this song is about a personified spider and his girlfriend out on a joy ride in a dune buggy.

A pretend adventure that a child would make up playing in a sandbox.

(+44) – Baby Come On Lyrics 19 years ago
"The past is only the future with the lights on"

you can't see what is going to happen in the future (the lights are out). But you can see what happened in the past (the lights are on).

Basically, in the future you have the same choices as the past but you can learn from your past choices to have a better future.

Motion City Soundtrack – Everything Is Alright Lyrics 19 years ago
Has anyone seen the video? It makes perfect sense. If you didn't know the band, you could get a total different meaning from it. Example: This song is about him going to a Therapist and talking about how he is inane and wants it to end. It talks about his neurosis and convincing himself he is fine. The end.

Weezer – We Are All on Drugs Lyrics 20 years ago
This song reminds me of my high school days. When I was consuming illegal substances. I can relate to this lyrics of this song on that level and I think that just proves what this song is about. It is about doing drugs. Period. If any of you has ever done drugs you know what this song is about. Let Weezer LIE about what they want it to be about. They were all fucked up one night and thought it would be funny to write a song about how, "everyone is on drugs so get off our backs".

Panic! at the Disco – I Constantly Thank God For Esteban Lyrics 20 years ago
What the hell does this mean then?

"Just stay where I can see you, douse the lights"

He can't see if there are no lights. He can't see at all! Why is he commanding that the lights be doused? If you are a genious then you will explain this phenomina with a level of detail coveted by the writer himself.

Panic! at the Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies Lyrics 20 years ago
Crunkinator there are many ways to interpret a song but only one right way. Here it is... it doesn't take that much of an imagination.

"Oh, well imagine" - he is asking you to pretend you are in his place.

"As I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor" - he is walking possibly nervously back and foreth in a church.

"And I can't help but to hear
No, I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words" - he hears a convorsation by accident.

"What a beautiful wedding
What a beautiful wedding," says a bridesmaid to a waiter - brides maids part.

"And, yes, but what a shame
What a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore." - Waiters part. This is the convorsation that he heard.

"I chime in with a
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?" - he asks them if they have heard of closing the door.

"No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality" - he thinks about what he just did and recomposes himself.

"I chime in
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of" - same thing.

"Oh, well in fact
Well I'll look at it this way
I mean, technically, our marriage is saved" - He thinks that now he doesn't have to get married.

"Well this calls for a toast
So pour the champagne" - he is celebrating that he doesn't have to get married.

Panic! at the Disco – But It's Better If You Do Lyrics 20 years ago
I kind of agree with SinicallySerious on this one. He is trying to forget someone in a strip joint. I think the pronoun "You" in consitantly talking about a girl that he had a relationship. He thinks that she wants him to be forgetting her in a strip joint. But he faked it all along and he wouldn't be caught dead there. Why? He states two things that I think may give a clue he states that he is of concenting age to go there and that he is praying for love in a lapdance and paying in naivety. This makes me think that he is actually an introvert and wouldn't be so excentric to go to a strip joint after a breakup but he could if he wanted to, so NAH! He thinks that him praying for love and being naive is what she wants. He doesn't show any emotion over the girl he broke up with in this song and I think that is a major point.

Panic! at the Disco – Intermission Lyrics 20 years ago
"Ladies and Gentlemen due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to continue our broadcast of dance musicwe shall continue now with our piano instrumental" This is a perfect opportunity for me to tell you my theory about this album, it is a concert performance. It has a introduction a plot and a intermission for christs sake. Do not argue just accept it for what it is.

This book must be a reference because even tho the music is totally sick (so much so that I think I will have to get a P!atd booster shot) I have no idea what the lyrics refer to. They aren't really even a story, as they are later on in the album. Just bought the book tho (inspired by P!atd) hope to find out what I am missing and complete the picture.

Panic! at the Disco – Camisado (Relax, Relapse) Lyrics 20 years ago
Seriously this one is spelled out for you.

Ths song starts out a guy in a hospital and speculates why he is there.

It then describes the scent of the hospital and how unpleasent it is.

Then he is complaining about the service where his anesthetic never set in.

I'm not sure why he says, "Im wondering where the apathy and urgency is that I thought I phoned in" Because I wouldn't want my nurse to be apathetic to my situation.

The sitting back and relaxing and relapsing states that this has happened many times.

Then the getting the kid out of the fight. My girlfriend and I decided it can mean two things, either that parents need to actaully teach their kids not to do something rather than ignore it or that it is explaining why this character in this song is relapsing.

Regular decorated emergency, means he has wounds all over him. Like the red badge of courage. And it means he is a "regular piece of work" ever heard that saying?

The most confusing part for me was at the end of the song. He is in the ICU hall of fame? Why is he causing a problem on the gurney? If he is in the ICU hall of fame that must mean that he goes there a lot I guess. And he is causing a comotion because... why? I don't get that part.

But I watched Fight Club and I don't think that it is a coincidence that this band likes that books author A LOT and they have a song like this. It is hard for me to believe this is not a reference to Fight Club. I could be wrong tho.

Panic! at the Disco – Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks Lyrics 20 years ago
malfoy,

You are right about this song not being about a book. It is an entity by itself. It may have some reference but why I like Panic! is they tell stories thru song.

This setting is a hospice, what you left out is that a hospice is an institution for the TERMINALLY ill. They won't live to go home. The first paragraph is about a patient who is on pills and is trying to talk, maybe to the nurse.

The second part about God I think you got mostly right. It is a rhetorical question about God "choking" on the situation. And he called in today so he isn't coming to help you.

"the hospice is a relaxing weekend getaway" because you are being pampered because you are dying. Ofcourse you are on a first name basis with the physician. This is to define a setting for the song.

The stuttering of something profound to the support on the line might be EMTs? But I think it referrs back to the slurring of speech in the first part of the song.

The pills to offset the shakes to offset the pills are medications that have side effects that you have to take more pills for, so doing very little to cure you.

The part about I am alone in this bed, house and head, is about the patient reflecting on his situation. The part about "She" I think is referring to the nurse and how he knows his treatment is going anywhere and he is going to die. "But at least I won't remember it", he thinks.

I think it is the story of a terminally ill patient who is reflecting on his stay at a hospice.

Panic! at the Disco – London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines Lyrics 20 years ago
When I first read the lyrics I thought it was about flaming bands on blogs with no good reason.

But now I realize that it is about them under pressure to write songs, put their name out there and not to take it personally if everyone hates them.

The song touches on three topics.
Songs
Press
Fans

They are under pressure to write songs. "You better put this pen to paper and charm your way out" meaning they have some ugly truths to tell and they need to sugar-coat them to be accepted.

They are intimidated by the press.
"Panic! [at the disco] meet the press, it's time for us to take a chance..."

"we're just a wet dream for the webzines" they are relying on the webzines to either love them or hate them. Also referring to people's blogs, I think.

"A. Indifference and,
B. Disinterest in what the critics say" Self explanitory.

I like this songs music a lot but the topic, I can't personally relate to. I would have rather it been about flaming bands for no good reason.

Panic! at the Disco – The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is the first SONG on their album. I think that it is an introduction to their music.

They ask you to sit tight and keep time, it's supposed to be funny. They say "good good now we're making some progress" like you are getting used to their music.

"And I believe this may call for a proper introduction"
"I'm the narrator and this is just the prologue"

These stanzas are a summary for this song.

The go on to say that all bands aren't quite what you think so listen to the rest of the album before they write this band off. Also it implys that P!atd is not just a "scene" band and they have something to say. Genius I think.

They conclude with saying, "swear to shake it up if you swear to listen." So they will keep entertaining you if you buy their album.

Another double entendre is "we're still so young and desperate for attention" is a play on their "supposed" demographic. It also sarcastically claims that this band is desperate for attention.

The only thing that I speculate about this song is that line "I aim to be, your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives"

People say that it is supposed to be a reference to a book. If so that also says something about this band and what they are into.

All in all this is a good introduction to their music and one hell of a good song.

Reggie and the Full Effect – Another Runaway Song Lyrics 20 years ago
THis song is about going out and doing things rather than just have sex.

Specifically the parts that sum this up are.

"Two weeks we were lovers,
now you feel left behind"

The first part is about the girl thinking that sex is all they do.

"Now we'll be good,
you knew we would"

The second part is about getting her back and getting the girl to realize it is still good.

"we have the night become our home"

The chorus is about him rather spending time with her and getting out and doing things.

I think this song means that you shouldn't piss off AC Lerok. Also, for God's sake, if you are going to sell cookies wear that UNIFORM!

I am assuming that the song talks about a *Girlscout* uniform.
