I was at her concert a few years ago and Jewel was answering questions from the audience about different things and someone asked if Adrian was about someone she knew...she said she was sorry to disapoint but it wasnt about anyone she knew and the same with the song "Painters". It was very funny how the whole audience kinda let out this sigh which she then began to apologize for saying that she should have just lied and said it was about a personal experience. If you have never seen her in concert she is great...very personal and sounds just as good live as she does on her CDs. I think what it means at the end of the song when it says "Adrian came home again last summer, Things just haven't been the same around here" that he passed away which can be described as going "home" to [insert afterlife of choice here]. |
