anti-flag have the best fans in the business. anti-flag is most likely the best band in the business, for connecting with their fans in the way they do. it's obvious the band and the fans are in fact united against the bullshit of our world, and that they're willing to get it out there, however they can. if you could possibly even consider calling them sell-outs, go actually see a fucking show and listen. jesus christ, listen. stop looking for something that isn't what punk is. punk is fucking saying something. and anti-flag are basically professionals. they believe in what they believe in, and they encourage kids not to just believe in what they as a band do, but to figure out their own beliefs. don't act like you know. especially if you have no fucking clue. |

I absolutely love this song. especially when he sings "I've realized that I don't wanna be judged no more..." it's such a statement, and he sings it so well. it's just a letting go, he's saying, well, screw you if you don't like this, but it's who I am and you can either listen and love it or just not. it doesn't matter to him anymore. |

I think the whole first verse is just meant to say that what's popular or cool today won't be in a few years, when "the hipster empire of tomorrow" falls to the common kids of today; or, every kid out there right now. it seems our society only pays attention to the kids that aren't common, the ones that have something that make them stand out and they flaunt it. I think they're trying to say that in a few years, every person is going to be important... After hearing this album, I can only think that they're going to be huge... even if they haven't yet, it's only a matter of time. |

| I think it's all already been explained in the previous "comments" but I must say, this is one of the most powerful songs on the record. Since he was adopted, I definitely think this is about him trying to communicate with someone (his mother) that's he's supposed to be so close to, but he's lost and he doesn't know how to anymore. I think the part about him lying in his letters is about him telling his adopted parents that he's fine, even if he's struggling with it. The song really shows off his amazing vocals and their ability to make a song just fit. Especially the guitar part during the chorus, the guitar work is great too... Amazing. | |

This is by far my favorite song on the album. The way the drums come in, and it all comes together is so amazing to me. Just the way he sings the chorus is so meaningful, you can just tell he's totally into it. It's a great song. To me it shows how disgusted you can get after someone really hurts you. I think it sort of shows how much he regrets ever even liking the person, and how he should have trusted his instinct and not wasted his time on them. and the first verse is like this... "How does it feel to be ashamed of who you love? Oh I know... You wore me out to please. Hidden in the glitter is the real thing." |

I really doubt that it's about Sonny. He's obviously trying to portray the whole "scene" coolness and the new "in" thing of hating yourself and thinking you're fat and ugly. It's not that he's using 'I' to describe himself, he's telling a story through first person. It's a fucking song, not his life story... Sorry to sound angry, it's just that I really don't think that he'd be stupid enough to say something like that or to be bulimic... P.S. It is an amazing song. Yay. |

I think this song has nothing to do with vampires or drugs. Personally, I think it's about someone that means so much to you that it seems like they're a part of you, constantly everywhere. I think the whole thing about "tonight she's draining me" has something to do with he can't do anything without her, and the "I follow as she leads" with the same. The metaphors in the song kick ass. |

I love the way this chorus comes in, after the verses, and the repition of the intro. It's one of my favorites by far on the album, which, might I add, is excellent. I read in a review about the album that the reviewer said that JT is the only man in the universe who couldn't use any sexual energy at all in the intro, but I think it's better like that. It seems a lot more intimate. What the fuck, not everything has to be sex-oriented. Way to go JT! |

I find this song to be one of the best FFTL songs, ever. I love the way it's written, like how it starts with how much he loves her, and how he displays it. But, at the end, there's more. Now, I know this song is on the album that's coming out in 2006, but it's amazing. Really, this new album is going to be awesome, and it seems like they've really matured in their sound. I love it. Now then. I think this song is trying to show that a lot of times, people don't realize how much they mean to certain people, and how easily they can hurt them, without even really realizing it. The whole thing with cutting wrists shows that when people do cut, it's not always for attention. It keeps them feeling normal, as a way to deal with some feeling they can't explain that makes them uncomfortable. I think JT wanted to point that out, and shows that someone is being blind to the girl's feelings. [clare] |

| I got Futures last year for Christmas, from my sister, and it's a special edition, with all of the demos for the songs. Each song has a little sidenote, in the album booklet, and in the one for this song, the title states, "The World You Love aka suicide." I think this explains a lot on it's own. The last verse, for example, states that he just wants the person there, with im. And in the chorus, the part of being as happy as they PRETEND to be. With something as emotionally earth-shattering as a suicide, sometimes people rely on you to help them through it, even if you aren't as strong as you appear to be. Everyone has their own ways to deal with life-changing things, whether it be a suicide or a big break up, and I think this is a sort of representation of one. [clare] | |
