I absolutely love this song, and I love playing it in my band... probably my favourite song to sing/scream Obviously not a touch on Senses Fail, but we do a pretty good cover of it. The ending is just so awesome, I remember at our last show, someone told me that they thought I was actually insane and that I looked like I was gonna kill someone. Made me smile |

This isn't between Metallica and Simple Plan, this is apparently between The Used And Nirvana. If I were to meet one of my "idols", I would be really nervous, but I'd be able to have a conversation. But saying that, I could very well just start crying or just fall at their feet. Just wondering, but how many songs have you heard by The Used or real emo bands, like Indian Summer or Dag Nasty, not bands like Fall Out Boy or Taking Back Sunday (who are good, just not actual emo). |

I wasn't trying to insult you, I was telling you (maybe in the wrong words) that you've taken this whole thing too far and you both seem like arrogant people who can't take no for an answer. What made you stuck up was you basically saying "I have a high IQ, so everyone else must be wrong and my opinion must be a fact" Do you think that teenagers going through puberty can't be intelligent and have a diverse music taste? They might not be as intelligent as you, but that doesn't make them stupid. I meant grow up because you're saying "I don't like this music, so the musicians must be worse than a band I like." And it's not really mature of you to tell everyone that opposes you that you think they should "jump of a cliff" (direct quote) |

I'm not going to say who's better out of Bert or Kurt. Personally, I don't really like Nirvana. Just not my style. And I do like The Used a lot. Neither of them were or are stupid, the're both extremely talented musicians. Kurt may not have been the best singer or vocalist, but damn, he was good at what he did. Fact. Bert is an extremely talented musician and vocalist/lyricist. If you listened to the more delicate of their songs, like On My Own, you would see how he uses his voice to change everything around him, even when he's screaming, it's to the best effect. Also, if you look up Sometimes I Just Go For It, which is just Bert improvising on piano, you will see his musical prowess. Note the word improvised. Just because one is smarter than the other, it doesn't make one a better musician than the other, although it helps. Nirvana (in my mind) became so big because they were around at the right time, with no real competition/opposition. Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and all the good bands in the vein DO write their own music and lyrics, and although the earlier, unsigned songs are more true, it doesn't make those bands sellouts. They are very individual. Compare Tell That Mick...-FOB to Headfirst For Halos-MCR. Both off their first albums, both good songs. From their new albums, 7 Minutes In Heaven-FOB to Thank You For The Venom. They don't have the same sound, and they are both good bands. Also, ButNeverOutgunned, stop being so stuck up and pretentious. Emo:Tears, you are a disgrace to "emo", grow up. I'm only a teenager, and I'm ashamed of you |

I think it's about this girl that he's crazy over, and is trying to impress her as much as he can. The first verse is about how they're both confused about something, so he tells her the best place to hide. When she goes to that place, he talks "to her", even though she is gone, because he doesn't have the courage to say it to her face. The second verse is him complimenting her, but he can only do it because he is drunk (My inarticulate store bought hangover hobby kit), which is why its so clumsy. The chorus is saying how she makes him "trip over" with her words, because he is so crazy for her. He is trying to "bring her down" to his level, because he thinks she is above him. The last line of the chorus tells us that he doesn't really care if she likes it or not. The pre-chorus contradicts this, by asking if he is moving too fast, and getting too close. In the breakdown, Adam just goes on about how he is going to make sure they are together, and keep them together (kidnap?). Well, it's just what I got from it. I think they pushed the title together to show that the boy is trying to make this happen as fast as possible (since having no spaces cuts out the pauses in between) |

| i read somewhere that this song is about their music, which is the box full of sharp objects. they've used it as a weapon against their mormon neighbourhood, where they rarely could play shows and were often banned after each show.they go on to say that evenyone has a box full of sharp objects, something that theyre good at which they can use to make them big. i just wisheed their new album was as good as this one. i wish it was different, but still as good. | |
