at a concert he said that he wrote this song when he was discouraged about his music career. I really do think this song is about fame and the "she" is the audience.
i totally can see how it would apply to unrequited love as well though. i thought that too until i went to the concert. |

The last minute and a half or so is amazing. the modulations and chords strike me to be like the ending of an old movie...for some reason, i always think of the ending sequence of Phantom Of The Opera--you're kinda left hanging at the end. This is a great song to end an awesome album. |

I think this song is more of an anthem for the whole cd than just a message in a song. if you think about it, the whole cd is centered around the singers life. I read somewhere that his girlfriend ended their three year relationship because he was always on tour with something corporate. this whole cd is a (modified) concept album about his life without her, and how he regrets losing her. this is also the second song on the cd, which could be a set-up for the rest of the songs... just my two cents |

Last year, I was having a really hard time with everything in my life. Nothing in my life at that time was going "right"(at least by my standards) and the two people that I talked to when I needed to vent were the instigators of the problems, so I had nowhere to turn... I didn't talk to anyone about it, including God, and I hit rock bottom about the time this CD came out. This song instantly showed me what I had to do--raise my hands to God and He would help me. It reminded me that I could confide in Him. this song is what made me realize that I caused all of my problems because I followed what I wanted to do and didn't consider God in the mix. this is such a powerful song--It really helped me realize that I needed to turn back to God. |
