this song kicks so much ass especially live :-D but man-o-man its pretty sad i think people made a great point with the newspaper gown meaning that she is poor, but i dont see any reference to jane being ugly basically this song goes like this -boy goes to party -meets jane (who gets around ie. "tired underpants") -they get intimate but hes not sure if he should -he dumps her -he gets a new girlfriend who is fake all over and apparently rich and good looking in a plastic way -he gets in a horrifying car wreck -then jane gets with a drunk -and finally boy wishes he was back pretty simple once you get past the traditional blood brothers metaphors |

I THINK the song is a story, told a little out of place, i think it all starts at "lets get laid tonight" so they drive to cape town to find some prostitutes (illegal) note the hiding in the back of the car, but the prostitutes beat them up, thus the beggining of the song. "blood runs down my face" etc also note how he says "THAT night haunts you..." its a very rough guess but it makes sense to me at least. anyone else agree? |
