| Shakira – Ojos Asi Lyrics

This song is amazing. I've been forced to hear it hundreds of times as we're performing to it... but I still love it. It's deep, but still easy to find the meaning of -- which others have covered. I was just wondering, who is the male voice in this? |

Okay, I just listened to this because I wanted to hear it in English, I love the Spanish one. It doesn't sound like Shakira, seriously. I've heard her other English songs (Hips Don't Lie, most recently), and she doesn't have this tight squeaky voice. Why was it sung like this? If it was a similar voice to that in Spanish, then I could respect this one. But she sounds like a mouse... |

I'm not gonna try to interpret this... I tend to rant.
I just want to say, like everyone else, that this song is amazing. I can see what RecoveringPain says. Lots of songs make me want to dance but not as hard as this one. I love how he whispers at the beginning and suddenly bursts out. |

I like the original versioni better, and then BFS's cover better than this one. Somehow it sounds like these guys (guy? I dont' know much about MxPx) are trying to force the lyrics out of them to the beat. Not a great singing style... BFS and of course BA actually seem like they mean what they're singing. |

| Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics

This is an amazing song. Personally, I like it better than NIN's version, maybe because I don't like NIN that much. I definately appreciate them for the lyrics and beat and all, but I agree with everyone else when they say Cash's version shows more emotion. Somehow it seems like NIN was trying to force the lyrics out (to me, at least), but Johnny Cash just flowed out. Definately one of the most emotional songs for this kind of topic. |

I'd just like to add my ideas about the title...
I think it's also taking a hit at America. We (Americans) really have butchered the language, either by changing the spellings of words to be "different", or by saying something like (Don't take offense to this) "Yo homie! Sup my brotha?!" ...sorry, easiest example I could find. The title shows bad lingual skills that we've really attained, while still keeping a title that works for the song. |

I know it's late for the argument (if that's what you'd call it) about "Anything that scares you" and "And I think that scares you", but I think it's the former. So he's kinda saying that in the endless world you can be anything, even any of the things that may be, for lack of a better word, scary to yourself. But this endlessness just incites a new fear. That's just my two cents... |

The opening line, "I hope you're doing fine out there without me, 'cause I'm not doin' so good without you," is by far one of the most memorable lines I have ever heard, lyrical or otherwise. I think it's something like he was always so worried about a breakup he never realized what it would be like when it really happened. And now that it has, he realized he should have enjoyed the time he had. |

| Linkin Park – My December Lyrics

I've always loved this song, I would listen to it at any time, not just in December. I agree with everyone about the meaning of it, it can be interpreted many ways. I love how this just adds to the fact LP can change tones easily. From soft like this, to something like One Step Closer, to some of the hip hop stuff (Yes, I do like that. I know a lot of people don't but there are some good ones they've made.) Today I just realized that Josh Groban also sang this song... does anyone know who sang it first? Because.. like others have said, their music says "Written by LP." The strange thing is...Groban's version sounds more powerful (not moving, but powerful) than LP's...which sees uncommon. |

The people who bash Greenday or the people who like it amuse me... most of the comments are non-sensical or just full of terrible grammar. That aside, this was the first Greenday song I heard and one of the only ones I like enough to listen to often.
Has anyone heard the remix of this song? It was combined with Oasis' "Wonderwall" and had a bit of Aerosmith at the end. Maybe I should post it...or see if it's been posted. Heh.
The remix is really the only one I like listening to...personally, I think Wonderwall added into it makes it a better song. |

I actually liked this song better than Skynard's version because it seemed to flow smoother, both the music and the lyrics. Maybe it's because I'm a Shinedown fan more than a Skynard fan but it's just my opinion.
And Featherhead, it's actually him saying "there is-a", kind of like taking a breath... I can't really explain it, listen to normal speech enough and you'll hear people pronounce it like that. |

I can see how it really seems to be somehow related to abortion, and am pretty sure it is, but I always got a different meaning to it. I think the part about "the unborn child" didn't refer to a baby's aborted birth, but to someone who hasn't realized what pain is yet. "Send a message... keep your eyes open" represents that while he couldn't "keep his eyes open" as whatever pain hit, and decided to commit suicide, the one who hasn't realized what can happen should try to. This is just how I like to interpret it, it has more meaning to me this way. |
