so 2 years later im sitting here and im listening to this song again. And I've come to think that it may not be about an abortion. At least not principally. It sounds like hes wanting to go back to his youth. Distortions are the complications that come up as you grow up. The part about not knowing who to marry, your sister came to bait me, that's definitely a tough part about life. Choosing a spouse isn't easy. So when he says that your sister came to bait me, but i love it when you blink your eyes. It seems that whats happening is hes tempted by her. This is of course, a common occurrence of life. The fact that he moves on and says but i love it when you blink your eyes suggests that he realizes he cant throw it all away. Furthermore in the 2nd verse he goes on and talks about his baby in coffins and all. What i've come to think is that the baby is already born. He's not debating an abortion or anything hes just trying to picture his life without a child. A child changes everything. Once a child is born your life isn't about you anymore and the world is completely different. Growing up means becoming wiser but also becoming burdened by the complications that come with it. This is suggested with the line "i want to know no secrets". He wants to regress back to his youth a time when there were no distortions. The world is perfect when you are young. As the saying goes ignorance is bliss. |

| so what i think is the line youre sister came to bait me. thats about sex. She seduced him and they had sex. Casual sex. but she ends up getting pregnant. He doesnt want a baby cause a baby changes your life completely. Thats what the distortion is. He wants an abortion. (ive pictured you in coffins / my baby in a coffin, I want this out not in me) The line i love it when you blink your eyes could mean that he kinda likes the chick and kinda wants to stay with her and have a family all that good shit. But the other part of him thinks he should leave her so he doesnt have to deal with all that and can go on living his life like he always has. Ill leave care free of distortions. | |

everyones got their own different interpretations. But what theyre talking about though is definitely long distance relationships. They were talking about it a while before the album came out. I mean just look at this "And now this little girl She says will we make it all 800 miles is a drive" self explanatory "All that you can give is a cold goodbye The law enforcement's impressed you've survived to this age" Cant believe the relationship is still surviving despite the separation "But oh no where are you tonight? And how'd we get here? It's too late to break it off" Shes not around anymore relationship is to serious to just casually brush off thats why you have a long distance relationship in the first place.
