this song references michael abdul malik, a racist and black supremacist who [though he was never convicted] killed two people in the seventies. their bodies were found in his garden of his house in the notting hill district.
malik deliberately sought out young upper middle class white people who were easily influenced by "causes" to support. his victims knew what they were getting involved with.
so this song is abouut the naivety of youth and the ridiculous and deadly lengths that some will go through in just "wanting to be loved". |
