I was listening to this just now and it hit me that there may be some sort of sarcastic tone regarding religion. I used to think it was just a very intense love song to an unknown subject, but now I think it might be to God, saying she was bringing her love to him, suffering greatly in the process - so much that she had to go through hell, sleep with the devil, etc.. I might be completely wrong here (: |

"And torture on the wheel" That's supposed to be the miracle St. Catherine performed - she was supposed to be tortured on the wheel, and somehow it exploded (and the splinters killed people all around) and she was saved. anyway, that's what was said in the movie "Millions"..
