I caught V for Vendetta on TV recently and noticed this song, or at least the chorus, is pretty much a direct reference to a scene in it. I feel kinda dumb for not realizing before, haha. |

I heard this song the first time on New Year's in a club and I fucking flipped out! I was so thrilled that anyone would write such a song 'bout my favourite band! Now, I don't even think this song's so great or anything (I hate the 'let the love tear us apart' parts), but it's damn amazing to see such a great band referenced in a song that's being played on MTV. Too many young people haven't even heard of them and I think that's absolutely horrible. Joy Division are too great for being so unknown!
I'm normally not one to want much advertising for my favourite bands (so don't hear some 12-year-old at school brag that 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' is his favourite song, when he does'n even know who Ian Curtis or New Order are), but let's face it: 90% of the people who hear this song and check out JD thereupon will say 'WTF is this emo shit??' and go back to listening The Fratellis ore something. And seriously, who cares about them? I know all I care about are the 10% who'll discover a fantastic band through this song =D |

The song's about this girl, Crow Jane, who gets raped (or maybe tortured) by twenty mine workers, then gets herself some guns, goes to their town and shoots them all.
I'm not sure though, if her measurments are suposed to indicate that she's pregnant. |
