I don't believe what everyone else seems to be saying. That all of Thrice's lyrics have something to do with god. Sure, they may have faith and whatever, but I personally think that their lyrics are just deeper than that. On another note, I have the same music box as in this song. The thing with Frances Farmer, in case you didn't realize, was that she wasn't actually insane...I'm not sure how the movie portrayed her as I haven't seen it up I've read up on this topic and her story many times. I agree that her story likens with kurts and possibly courtneys (excluding the whole shock therapy rumors) but it's as if they were 'fooled' by holywood and the media sucked them in, before turning their backs on them and making them out to be something theyre not. Or it could be an example of just media in general and the way they destroy peoples name by over exagarrating. kurt seemed heavily affected by this kind of thing. or not so much affected as hardened by it. Celebrities are being used, basically. Make sense? LOVE the song anyway. and nirvana. RIP kurt |

I too am obsessed with this song. It's like any of placebo's songs; you CANNOT and WON'T get sick of them. I'm serious. With this film clip. What can I say? I was moved? I don't know. I guess I understand the whole drug theory, and how the father and son is two people. I also believe that it's about someone who can't help themself, and relies solely on someone else, through the good and the bad. It could be someone unexperienced, ie the child...but then it could also be someone who HAS been there. Anyway I don't care what this song trully means- it's meaning varies from person to person. My younger brother suggested (upon watching the video) that it's about a son taking care of his blind father. I doubt that is true...but it's what it means to him. Placebo make you feel. I like that. And I like placebo. This song is unbelievable. |

i really like this song. Personally I really like thrices new style. I think theyve changed, but it proves a lot about the band I guess. They've got awesome lyrics, and can easily compare with one of my favourite bands, Trapt. That's the sort of style this song, and the rest of Vheissu portray.
