Bob Dylan – Tangled Up in Blue Lyrics 20 years ago
This song just sounds like a typical dylan styled overdramatic, and poeticly snobbish folktale about some relationship with some stripper, I wouldn't look too deep at the details. But I think dylan likes to put the riches on his poetic lines a little too heavy to overglorify them and trying to make his relationship with a stripper look more wholesome.

haha...probably wrote it from guilt..

Bob Dylan – Forever Young Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah this is just a sort of pop wishy washy tune, trying to gain some like general mass appeal in a rock style. It's just a friendly sort of good will song, like others said not about his son. Musicians generally don't like to think of one person for inspiration, especially when they are popular, they try and make a song they think will have a lot of mass apeal and not offend anyone in their target market.

This song is just written to parents, and ehh I mean nothing deeper than what it says. I don't see any direct inspiration or interest other than ploys for popular marketing and adding to his goodie two shoes charecter with with the righteous references.

Bob Dylan – Desolation Row Lyrics 20 years ago
I think you guys are making Dylan Look like some sort of secret songwriter like he's trying to put some sort of deep history into his lyrics. He's not...he's just a party sort of hippy, trying to confuse the hell out of people.

These songs...if you think about it are all about famous things, and a lot of folklore type things. He's a folk singer, and these are people and things that he's metaphorically referencing in mixed up context as he concludes the song, saying that it would be lame if he didn't put that sort of spin on them.

But what he does is he is just putting a spin on the situations adding some poetry to make it sound fancy, and throwing in some famous names to confuse people. Desolation Row is nothing more than a song, though it does seem to give an undertone that Desolation Row is like the price for being a celebrity. That you have to isolate yourself....

Like the song even concludes not to send any letters, unless you are someone famous from Desolation Row, then he has respect for you.

Samhain – The Shift Lyrics 20 years ago
This song to me is like playing the music, the shift, going to work. The hell has begun, hehe cause it's some hard work. Sort of some carissma or attitude you get on stage, like you wanna kill someone and you're pumped.

Samhain – Moribund Lyrics 20 years ago
I covered this song too, and it's from Unholy passion and moribund means to be in a state of dying. It's just like saying that we are all gonna die, we're like stuck living here in this world and don't have total control of that, just go with the flow, don't have any regrets deal with it. heheh the song live though sounds like some sort of satanic ritual.

Samhain – Archangel Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is about satan, and based off the Bible Revelations of yeah the Seven seals opened by an angel, and the beast and satan ruling the world. Casted down my brethern, obviously refers to satan and his demons. Then they are calling satan an archangel protecting the demons, and saying how he can protect them all in hell.

I did a cover of this song...it's really just a biblical sort of revelations inspired song.

Grateful Dead – Aiko Aiko Lyrics 20 years ago
hehe I remember seeing an inverview with the late era keyboardist vince welnick that it refered to something like f*** you up the ***! in another language or so he though...but yeah it just seems like a party song. I heard this live in 95 really smoking version in Philly...on the floor section six. They brought it down and then picked it back up and then down real slow tempo, it was wild..

Grateful Dead – 100,000 Tons Of Steel Lyrics 20 years ago
100,000 tons of steel, made to roll..hehe this song is definately complexe, but looking at the charecter of the writer Hunter, and knowing him. This song seems to be about music, playing music, and the music industry, and how big the band is, and how chaotic the whole movement is, and how he's having fun enjoying the ride comparing it often with an exciting thrilling roller coaster.

You can count the drug experiences and playing experiences as all part of the thrill magic this song describes intensely.

Chicago – 25 or 6 to 4 Lyrics 20 years ago
Knowing how hard it is to make good songs, I know that this song is about songwriting and the frustration. When I am trying to come up with lyrics to a song, I generally will strum the chord progression I put together, maybe lay that down, and then think of some lyrics that are gonna match the melody and sound cool. Generally something about how I feel at the time, and what I'm thinking.

25 or 6 to 4 is just sorting out the song, and fits in the melody sounds cool. Probably just there to make you think, and may have vague reference to time. Like 25 is like take 5, or put in a little more time, or maybe do the session 6pm to 4am if you have to, to keep the songs momentum.
