well, i have the guts to say OUR GENERATION DOES SUCK. things need to change. i'm only 17, but i admire and appreciate madonna and her music. nowadays, music is nothing other than s*it. i hope madonna keeps kicking out great songs (like she always has) because this generation definitely needs to be showed how it's done. |

before i read anyone else's comments i want to say mine right quick. i think this song is about how someone went off to war and saw a lot of killing and all that bad stuff, but when they got back from war they couldn't get the images out of their head. and now they seem like a "zombie" to everyone they know because they are this troubled person who is not what they used to be. i could be wrong, of course but that is just my interpretation.
by the way, i love this song and it is definitely one of my favorites. it' very very powerful lyrically and musically, but it literally scares me sometimes and not a song i would listen to in the dark (alone or not!)!! |

thank you Alexis507. you said it better than i could. once again, M clearly stated (before the record was even released) that it wouldn't be a good idea to try to decipher any of the lyrics off of COADF because it's a DANCE RECORD. she also said, " well, who's wants to interpret lyrics while they're trying to dance?" so, this is why you should just enjoy the beautiful, genius music off of the incredible album.

madonna did write this song and if YOU knew anything about the way she writes, then you'd know that. anyways, yes i agree with Tom999. this is a very pretty song and it sounded even better live when she was on MTV for "Madonna: ON STAGE AND ON THE RECORD" in 2003. i'm sure you'll be able to find that performance at Limewire or Ares. so, please do that. you won't regret it at all. |
