This song starts so powerful! I might not be wrong, when I say that it's about a guy who is fallen in love for the first time and it made him stoked. ;) |

| I heard an interview with Spencer, the singer. It was like that; He once worked in "office towers". All day working on the same thing, talking about the same things. The monotonity drives him into a kind of desperation but without loosing his head. That really worn him out, making him writing this song! | |

I haven't thought about htis approach yet, but it sounds good! They split for a time coherent with hibernation and after that they return. It seems like to the singer all the feelings appear as silent films. Like a cut through all what had happend while the have been together. I like the CBC-Sessions a lot. They're like butter on my toast. Oh Canada ;) |

hmmm... A relationship actually?! A relationship that is worn. Maybe even they are living side by side there is so much cross-purposes. And they actually asking themselves where this should end. I love how the piano just puts the song onto a kind of another (melancholic) level. |

A climax-song on Mirrorball. A relationship between a young man and a women. She gets pregnant and he deals with it the best way he can, but nevertheless he is kind of furious and on the other side he is haunted by all these thoughts coming through his mind, thinking about the future. Maybe her preganncy came a bit as a surprise for both of them. I think the rough rhythm underlines these expressions, which are hard to put into words. I like this verse most...maybe because it just doesn't need to be connected to the idea written above, but fits strangly for the idea of a split. ---- I can't hear you, but I feel the things you say I can't see you, but I know what's in my way Now I'm floatin' 'cause I'm not tied to the ground Words I've spoken seem to leave a hollow sound. ----- (And yeah, in the 8th verse it's "Pulled the curtain..." instead of "Puzzled the curtain") |
