I'm not sure if this song in particular is about family, though it's definetely about someone in the journal, which is what the entire ablum is supposedly about. I think Miranda is the alternate name for Cygnus Vismund Cygnus's mother, or at least the real name since the other name used for her is the album name "Frances the Mute." The line "I've always wanted to eat glass with you again" I think refers to smoking, because his mother died from throat cancer, hence the album name Frances the Mute because she had her vocal chords removed, they also reference this in another song, but I think he wants to have another smoke with her, or just plainly meet her because he never knew her. I think this song is about her death from the cancer though, I'm not really sure, tell me if anyone feels the same. |
