I don't know if it's related to the meaning, but the "rhythm" line is sampled directly from the Dune movie, so it definitely has some connection. |

Alright, I'm curious... Is this really sung by Elton John or just a good impersonator? I love the song, but my brain cannot comprehend why Elton John would actually write a song for South Park... |

Yeah, this and Robot Rock really don't need to be on this site. Sorta... you know... obvious what both of those are about. |

I think this song sounds vampiric because it has a certain waltz like quality, which we attribute normally with that same time period.
Besides that I think this one is pretty self explanatory. It's a love song, and a good way to finish off an awesome album. |

I love the chorus of this song. I think it's pretty much just a play at technoing (yes that is a word) a russian lullaby... and adding in the obligatory sexual undertones to the words. |

this song pretty much is just insane. In a good way.
I would try and interpret this, but I really can't. The best I can do is that perhaps its talking about crack dealers in the 80's. the mention of pac, "I used to be a robot" (robots being considered retro) and selling rock, but I don't think either member of gnarls barkley would have such a shallow message in there songs (in comparison to there others at least, which by common consensus are also rather hard to decrypt.) |

I think this song is about independent music. From the lines "If your wondering what you look like, look at me" right at the beginning of the song (which isn't listed here by the way) it's talking about how he is saying that all artists seem to look the same now a days. "Pump up the peculiar, while I yell unique" telling people to listen to the unique music he is singing, trying to break the mold of the dime a dozen pop artists and what not. He goes on to tell pretty much how it's made, that music shouldn't be just sort of slapped together like in an assembly line, but from the heart ("heart is enormous") and how that if you make it that way, people will want to listen to you ("come hear this, it's fearless"), and how it will actually be more like art ("contrast, colour, prism so warming"). Finally, he mentions that he is free, free from record labels things that have generally been seen as squelching artist freedom to produce whatever music they wish too. Just my 2 cents. |

Hmm... I wouldn't have thought that at all. I was thinking this song was about date rape pretty much... all these mentions of how I like her better dead (unconcious) that "I caught something in her eye (most stalker types think there victims secretly love them)" and all the mentions of necrophilia giving off how creepy and disgusting date rape really is. However I can see where Cee-lo is coming from too on this one too. |

I'm not getting any of this weird drug references here. I believe that fatcatfreak pretty much nailed it on the head. He's talking about isolation if you want to take this poetically (although I too have heard about it being literally about a roof) fixing a hole so you don't have to talk to anyone, all these silly people running round.
Anywhom, a good song, fits with Sgt. Pepper's general mood well. |
