You all are wrong. I personaly know Justin (the lead singer if you dident know) and this song is about one of his ex-girlfriends. She heavily took LSD (Acid) and the song says it all. Tell me that you're alright Ya, everything is alright Oh, please tell me that you're alright That everything is alright **this is from one of the "trips" she had she was going crazy on the floor and he said "Oh, please tell me that you're alright" and she mumbled back "Ya, everything is alright"** Give me a reason to end this discussion To break with tradition, to fall and divide **this is him confronting her about her drug problem** 'Cause I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes, Talking with strangers, waiting in line **These are the things/places that she embarassed him at when she was on the acid.** I'm through with these pills that make me sit still Are you feeling fine? Yes, I feel just fine. **Justin told me this is a metophore. That she is a pill thats holding his life still. And he would ask her if "She felt fine" and she said "Yes, i feel just fine"** I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire! **these are the things she did while "tripping" she would franticly clean things and check things in her car. One trip she actualy counted the tiles on the ceiling and every time she counted them all (she counted them like 20 times) and she would mumble "that seems right"** I used to rely on self-medication I guess I still do that from time to time But I'm getting better at fighting the future **He would try things to stop her from taking acid (self-medication) and sometimes they would work so he's fighting the future by fighting her addiction.** I know this is 100% correct because i know the band. I see why the guy thought it was OCD but its not. |
