i think that this song is metaphorical, and that the "love" ian speaks of in the song is in fact his addiction to heroin, which he knows will tear he and his wife apart.
mokabiel, i don't like what you said about ian curtis "going out when he was at the top"..he got fucked up by drugs and depression.. FUCK how successful he was.. that was part of what messed him up. that's seriously one the most selfish things i've ever heard. |

moloy, shut the hell up. convering a song by someone doesn't mean you're trying to get close to them by way of talent. it's about personal interpretation, which means it is VERY possible to recreate emotion in a cover - that's what makes them different to the originals. your comment would be more justifiable if Marilyn Manson was original, which he isn't (though that's not to destract from his music, which i do happen to like). i might add that it's also not your place to judge whether it's ok to cover Marilyn Manson or not.. as if he gives a shit about what you think! and since he's done covers of songs himself anyway, i can't see why he'd have much of a problem with it. |
