Thrice – Phoenix Ignition Lyrics | 17 years ago |
reminds me of the teachings of the philosophes during the enlightenment, at least the never reach perfection part- it's the exact opposite |
Thrice – Paper Tigers Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Referring to the 'politicians sending others to their death' arguement, read All Quiet On The Western Front by Remarque. Brilliant stuff, and even though I don't believe that's quite the meaning behind the words of this song it's a great read in itself. |
Thrice – Ultra Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Think about it though- what if some massive realization (Rev Ultra Blue) hit every human on Earth at one time. What if every single person suddenly gained whatever knowledge/belief Rev Ultra Blue is? It's too much to comprehend. |
Thrice – Ultra Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ad·o·nai ( P ) Pronunciation Key (äd-n, -noi) n. Lord. Used in Judaism as a spoken substitute for the ineffable name of God That should help |
Thrice – Opaque Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Listen to ^ please- forget about Thrice is/isn't a Christian band. Yes, some of their stuff refers to the Christian God, but even more of their stuff is made out to be about catholics. Someone made The Red Death out to be full of Christian meaning- that song was taken practically word for word from The Masque of the Red Death, and a line from Romeo and Juliet! Personally, I'm a Christian, but I don't take much of Thrice's lyrics as relating entirely to God. So let the Thrice religious controversy drop, and focus on the meaning of this song. No more 'it's about god because thrice is a christian band' crap, ok? |
Thrice – Lullaby Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"Can you imagine? A world where there's no more need to cry But no joy or passion. It seems like the price is much too high." Equilibrium, anybody? |
Thrice – Genie in a Bottle (Christina Aguilera cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
What the f*** genie in a bottle? |
Thrice – Carol Of The Bells Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think Thrice based this song on Christmas. Thoughts? |
Thrice – We Thought We Were Brave Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Uh this is Deadbolt? |
Thrice – Flags of Dawn Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'd gladly take this over Like Moth's to Flame or Holdfast- both are good songs, but Flags is just awesome. I really, really wish the band explained how this song came into being in that little booklet that came with Vheissu... |
Thrice – The Red Death Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Weird story- my AP English class reads/analyzes The Masque of the Read Death. Within a week, we start reading Romeo and Juliet. Yeah, so this song really just started to make sense. Red Death -> EAP -> Ebola! Yes! And that R&J 'stony limits cannot hold me out' etc. thing surprised the heck out of me the first time I heard it. Brilliant lyrics. |
Thrice – Image of the Invisible Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's a good song, but i like music box and the earth will shake just as much, if not more... Anyways, this sums a lot of things up: Thrice, as a band, has always been influenced by CHRISTIAN thinker C.S. Lewis (The Abolition of a Man, anyone?). That isn't saying that their a christian band at all- they jiust have religious undertones that add to the mood people get from their songs. Also, most of Vheissu's lyrics (including the albums name) was inspired by Thomas Pynchon's novel 'V'. So, their you have it- where a lot of those odd Thrice lyrics that are hard to get come from. |
Breaking Benjamin – Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Lyrics actually remind me of Firefly, what with the whole 'fly away' thing and the fact that again, there is the "i", the "you", and the "them" |
Breaking Benjamin – Firefly Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It sounds like someone looked up to they (all pronouns are going to be used in really, really general terms ok) were following lied, betrayed them, f'd up etc. etc. as someone can choke on a lie, people were hung for being traitors, and so on... but then it seems like the 'I' of the song does just about the same thing (falls in line, with the orginial leader). I have no idea what this song means. |
P.O.D. – Youth Of The Nation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
