I have some info that may help some of you folks out there who are as clueless as i was before i was tipped off. First off, this song is meant to be a decoder to the album, sort of a summary and answer sheet to all the questions that you may still have after listening to the album. Frances is in fact Vismund Cygnus's mother and she is the one telling the story on the track. The story so far has been confirmed that 1: Vismund Cygnus is on a search for his biological family 2: Frances the Mute is Vismund's mother as well as The "widow" The rest of the story can be left up to your interpretation except for these few facts that are indisputable. Frances was forced to abort Vismund by an unknown suspect who may have been involved with the church ("Tomi la sangre, comi el cuerpo" are references to drinking the blood and eating the body of Christ which is done in ceromnial communion services.) The church suspect may have not wanted it to be known that he had an affair with the pregnant Frances who was a prostitute, as evidence points to in the song L'via L'viaquez who happens to be Frances' sister. Vismund was cut from his mothers womb, but survived the abortion ("gutted at the nave" "sangre sonando de rabi naci" which means the blood rang from the rage of birth.) Cygnus...Vismund Cygnus also states "an abortion that survived". Livia was witnessed to the abortion scene and fled as evidence points to in one of Cassandra's many parts "And the owls they were watching and the owls didnt care" "In the corner of their eyes fled sister L'Via." also the song plainly states "concieved from the stabbing was Vismund Cygnus". The story of Frances the Mute is a tragic one about a man trying to uncover the history of his family, and winds up wishing that he never did. Near the end of Cassandra the lyrics say that "you always had a family in the burial of your home". These are the facts jack, and you can leave a lot of the rest up for interpretation! |
