| Taking Back Sunday – Capital M-E Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song's about Fred. | |
| Jack's Mannequin – Caves Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the last verse has to do with Something Corporate: "And what if we were married forever? Like the past never happened And time did not exist for us at all I still think we'd still be traveling together Through all kinds of weather Everything's a piece of everyone" The whole "traveling together through all kinds of weather" brought to mind the song Hurricane and Something Corporate. I think basically he's saying that Everything in Transit was just sort of exploration but after being sick everything changed, everything got put on hold and, the "marriage" broke. |

| Brand New – Sowing Season (Yeah) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love the end of this song "I am not your lover, I'm not your friend, I'm not your family," YEAH! | |
| Brand New – Jesus Christ Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Amazing song, about dying obviously, and the afterlife. | |
| Brand New – Handcuffs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Great song, no clue what it's about. Taking all the bullshit from some girl you really like? |
| Brand New – Degausser Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Love this song, but I have no clue what the fuck it means. | |
| (+44) – When Your Heart Stops Beating Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Hah fun song, great single, upbeat, it's just fucking awesome. No blink undertones that I can see, to me it's just a straight up song about a girl you really like and it makes your heart temporarily stop beating. |
| (+44) – Weatherman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Another song about the end of blink. Another one that's saying it was Tom's fault, and that Mark is trying to get through it. |
| (+44) – No It Isn't Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is basically telling Tom "Fuck off." Please understand This isn't just goodbye This is I can't stand you This is where the road crashed into the ocean It rises all around me And now we're barely breathing A thousand faces we'll choose to ignore Basically: I'm done with you, this is the end of blink-182, and we're leaving so many fans behind. The thousand faces could also reffer to all the people that lost their jobs when the blink tours were cancelled. Curse my enemies forever Let's slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful This desperation leaves me overjoyed With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy That's saying that Mark is done with Tom and how they just destroyed the best thing they ever had. Out of it has come Plus 44, leading him past the horrible destruction of blink-182. I listen to you cry A cry for less attention But both my hands are tied And I'm pushed into the deep end I listen to you talk but talk is cheap And my mouth is filled with blood From trying not to speak So search for an excuse And someone to believe you In foreign dressing rooms I'm empty with the need to The cry for less attention is how Tom never said he quit blink-182, so he basically pinned the split on Travis and Mark. Mark's mouth is filled with blood from biting his lip trying not to say anything. The foregin dressing rooms thing reffers to the place where the hiatus was first addressed to mark and travis. One of the funyn things I want to note is that the part in the third verse "you make a sound that feels like pain" was added to the version of No it Isn't that was heard AFTER angels and airwaves came out, and this verse was not present in the original demo. Could this reffer to the constant "Ohhhh Ohhoohs" of Tom at AVA concerts? |
| (+44) – Make You Smile Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Beatiful song, I love the way it sounds with Mark and Carol alternating. I think it's just about seeing a pretty girl and just hooking up with them at wherever you are. It's definitely not a relationship song. |
| (+44) – Lycanthrope Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Great start to the album, a solid rock feeling to it with some punk elements thrown in. I think the first verse and the chorus were meant to address blink, but the next verses are kind of abstract. I wake up at the end of a long, dark, lonely year It’s bringing out the worst in me I hear your voice start breaking in fear When the lights go down And I still feel you looking over my shoulder You’re sinking guilt and approaching nightmare And I know none of us will survive Because I know everything It's saying: I've come back after everything that's happened in the last year, and it's bringing out the worst (and best) in me. I can hear your (Tom's) fear, as he sleeps, possibly sscared about Plus beating AVA out? And Mark still can feel Tom's presence as he writes this album, but it's Tom's impending doom and the repercussions for the way he quit blink-182. Then the chorus is basically saying "Shut up and stop telling the media everything, I fucking get it." "I hear your silence loud and clear" is like, we understand what you're getting at by never truly addressing the blink situation, we got no apology, we get it. |
| (+44) – Lillian Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Okay, a lot to address on this song. The name comes from the lady from the homeowner's association in Mark's old community when he lived in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego, California. Now, the band has given two meanings: one is the blink breakup, and one is just how while his community was beautiful, all the people were assholes around him. as for the breakup, It can't get more literal. The first verse: The place I used to live made me feel like a tourist I couldn't coexist with the cold and suspicious When the last remaining light was starting to filter It seemed the perfect time to step into the future It's basically saying that blink started to turn into something it wasn't, and Tom was taking too much control. As the band fizzled out, it seemed the right time to start something new. The chorus is basically addressing Tom, just as No It Isn't does. Your heart is a grave to be perfectly honest Your mouth's a smoking gun And you smile while you're twisting the knife in my stomach Until everything is gone Take all you can from me I've got weak constitution I'm led so easily So easily The first part is just talking about Tom being an ass and just the way he handled the whole breakup. The second part seems to be Mark kind of regretting not addressing the truth about the breakup (that Tom quit the band) and how he allowed Tom to go out and lie to the media and the fans, and walk around eveyr question. I left it all behind in the dead of last winter I left it all behind but the question still lingers So long, forgotten friends No you don't know the difference Between love and submission And I'm not that obedient This next verse is saying that he left the band the last winter, he left it all behind, but the possibility of reuniting is always there. Goodbye Tom, you're not my friend anymore, because you can't distinguish control from a democracy, and I can't take it. Then the last part, with the outro "And she's trying to sleep it off" seems like his Wife trying to console him and he's just trying not to think about it. |

| (+44) – Little Death Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Beautiful song, one of the best on the album. I think Trite is correct,, to an extent. Specifically the line "A little death makes life more meaningful" is basically the equivalent to Angels and Airwaves' line "The pain ahs a bad reaction, a blend of fear and passion." Both address the fact that out of the ugly blink situation came something else: (+44) and AVA, In a more literal interpretation, It's probably about a girl crying over something that's happening, and it's just her boyfriend/husband/whoever telling her that whatever happened is really insignificant if you think about it and just to sleep it off. |
| (+44) – Cliff Diving Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Good song, IMO one of the weaker ones on the album, but the band seems to like it a lot. Mark said it's about how he and his friends would jump from a friend's roof into the pool and call it cliff diving. To me, it's just about jumping into something new in order to just clear your head and get through whatever has happened to you (the blink breakup). | |
| (+44) – Chapter 13 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The best song on the whole damn album. Structurually it is so fucking awesome. Fact: Travis recorded the drums to this song in one take. According to Mark, the name comes from Dante's Inferno's Chapter XIII, about suicide. The song itself is supposed to be a bout a guy seeing a beautiful girl and then going to a hotel room and commiting suicide. Who cares, the song is great. |
| (+44) – Baby Come On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Clearly one of the est songs on the album, although the acoustic version is just plain beautiful. Basically it's about a guy meeting a girl at a bar or something, and he knows her life could be better, but shes wallowing over a past mistake or something like that. I think forever23 is dead on about the "past is the future" line. |
| (+44) – 155 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's not about the Barkers, It was most likely written before the conflict came to a start. Actually, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense, but Mark mentioned it being written soon after the breakup of blink, so unless the Travis/Shanna conflict was that long, it can't possibly be. |
| (+44) – Baby Come On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's not "such a pretty girl." It's just "She's a pretty girl, she's always falling down." And I know this for a fact, it was on their website. |
| (+44) – Little Death Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Beautiful song. I think it's about your girl having big dreams and they're sort of falling apart and you're sitting there consoling her. |
| (+44) – Lycanthrope Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Hey Absolute whateverthefuck your name is. How bout you shut the fuck up. I don't see you posting lyrics. | |
| (+44) – Lycanthrope Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The lyrics have now been updated with the official lyrics taken from Mark Hoppus' myspace blog. The old lyrics were transcribed by me, took for ever too. Anyways, I'm not too sure about what the song is about. The first two lines definitely speak about blink, but the rest of the song seems to be about a girl and the guy's despair. I'm sure there's several depths to this song. It seems like another song about paranoia just like Stockholm Syndrome, but perhaps it's about a man who is a werewolf and has to deal with his beloved. I dunno. |

| Never Heard Of It – I'll Change For Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I like this song. Its very catchy. |
| Angels and Airwaves – Distraction Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This needs to be edited, the chorus to The War has been edited in immediately after Distraction ends. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – The War Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Great song, one of my favorites. It's about someone who'se close to a soldier, and they're hoping and praying that their soldier comes home alive. Tom's brother is fighting in Iraq so its about him. |
| Angels and Airwaves – It Hurts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I like this song. Seems to me its about a guy whose best friend started flaking on him to hang with his girlfriend who used him. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Oh, Gerald: this page used to have Good Day lyrics on it. then they got changed. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's "take me away from this torturous land" btw. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Distraction Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this is one of the weaker songs on the album. I like the lyrics, but I just don't like the beat. It's obviously about a city evacuated for war and someone (maybe a soldier) is dedicating a field to his love. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – A Little's Enough Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's The Cure not the Secret. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song is beautiful. It's the "Always" of We Don't Need to Whisper. |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Okay, I've heard the album and this is definately Good Day. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – It Hurts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The full song isn't released, but a clip about 1:30 long was, you can download it at punkdisasters.com | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Sorry, I was wrong. "Good Day" will be on the album. And so will Do It For me Now. So the two can't be the same. |
| Angels and Airwaves – It Hurts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's "Why did, I let her inside, We're dripping in sweat, I'm feeling alright" |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Punk Rock_14, did you not listen to a word I said? Trust me on this one, I am freakin obsessed with AVA. Do you want me to find where Tom said that this won't be on the album, that it IS called Good Day, and that he wrote it before AvA even started and then officially recorded it with them? |
| Angels and Airwaves – The Gift Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Do It For Me Now isn't even released yet. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Good Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Well, Tom said that this song will NOT be on the album. In fact, he wrote it by himself without David, Ryan and Atom. Right after the blink hiatus. According to Tom himself, its about how he's sad about blink breaking up but yet excited for AvA, but under the mask of a break up song. |
| Angels and Airwaves – It Hurts Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I heard the clip on the radio, and I think this'll be one of the best songs on the album. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – The Gift Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It is the whole version, I think. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
no it's not, it says that the song is called Good Day but some people believe that its Do It For Me Now. But that was before Tom's statement and no one's edited it since. |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
No, it's called Good Day. Tom said so himself. He also said that this song won't be on the album. So ha. |
| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Uhh, this should be deleted. This song is called "Good Day" and it already has a page. |
| Angels and Airwaves – Good Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I thought it was "You're so fast asleep"... | |
| Green Day – Haushinka Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Sounds like it could be the epilogue to American Idiot | |
| (+44) – No It Isn't Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yeah, that's what it sounds like too, "Less attention" | |
| (+44) – No It Isn't Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I agree with you guys. This song is about being a good friend and staying loyal, even when your best friend's an asshole. While Tom was out parading around his new band and saying it's "going to change music forever" and pretty much blaming the band's split up on Mark. And Mark took it. He never said a word. "No It Isn't" is a song about being the best kind of friend ever. |
| (+44) – No It Isn't Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This rift is getting way the hell out of hand. From what I've read, Mark said he didn't tell Tom about Plus 44 because Tom and Travis never told him about Boxcar. Tom says he only asked Travis to drum for Boxcar cuz he didn't want to pay for a studio drummer. | |
| (+44) – No It Isn't Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is called "No It Isn't". I don't think its about Tom, and if it is..well then the rift is deeper than we thought it was. |
