While I actually do agree with the Atheistic intentions of the song, for me it takes on a paternal meaning. I've molded the lyrics (as I think most great songs have the ability to be malleable) to include a mostly absent and perhaps negligent father. I haven't the time to elaborate, but I just wanted to introduce this idea. |

I don't think he was actually married with her, the cake and white and carry-on line is preceeded by "of all the ways it could've gone", meaning that could've happened if the "4 year stand" hadn't ended. So obviously she did mean a lot to him, but they weren't married. |

Ok don't kill me, I tried my best on the lyrics. :P
This song is great though, I think it's about making the band and starting up after almost being defeated. |

The beats on this song are amazing and quite touching. Its simplicity and straight-forwardness accentuate this. |

He's messed up the relationship, let it fail(walk-ins could be people that he allowed in that ruined their love), and now he's addicted to something he can't have anymore. She's taken over his dreams and taken away his wit(wisdom teeth). When people are infactuated with someone, they are often ignorant of everything else, and being deprived of someone can build onto this ignorance.
I love the song, especially "No relationships are ever finished, just abandoned". There is a lot of allegory to explore. :) |

A thought just occured to me.
"There's no peace for passing of this new sickness
That I have introduced
To everyone around me saying
That I'm the cause of all their crime
And when they're drunk
I pour the wine"
This means that he has been the scapegoat for his friend's problems. They say that he exacerbates the situation, hence he poured the wine that made them drunk. This is the fuel that makes him want to leave. |

I think it's about moving on with your life, going somewhere completely new and dropping everything in your past. In this case, he's running away with a significant other, saying that he has the power to do it(the gun metaphor which kno elaborated on). |

This is an awesome song, so many memories! Self-explanatory really, but it's so great.
The best part is acting out the dialogue with your friends :D |

It's okay that you're black and love rock music..I didn't mention race in my little rant. I'm white and I love r&b and rap. I'm going to stop being the rap martyr though, and just close with saying,
Panic! at the disco and Hawthorne Heights are great. But so are Nas and DMX. |

Isn't he the boy from SOAD's video Question!? Or am I seeing things? Tell you the truth..I can't remmeber what the boy from the video looks like :P
As for the song, it's a good song. It gets repetitive but it's in no way bad. Hawthorne Heights really impresses me :) |

Lol but the interlude is hilarious :D
As for the song, it's a great example of how good DMX's rapping skills are. It's about this girl that he's digging, and how she got a man and how that's causing him problems but he's still trying to get at that ;) |

For me, it's about liking someone and her leading you on a bit, but it's just flirting(a kiss in this case) and she has someone she really likes and you can't do anything but watch and feel horrible.
"I just can’t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea"
That sums it up for me, the song has more to it, but that's the personal part I relate to. |

This is probably my favorite song on the CD...it's just great all around.
I agree with pla7 about the fear of vans. Someone close to them died in a van or something like that. |

I love how people are taking this song so seriously. Comparing it to rock is stupid. Calling R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap etc stupid, is also stupid. Okay, last time i'm using the word stupid. Except there. Okay that was it.
The song is popular because it's catchy, and because it's new. This kind of beat that D4L and Dem Franchize Boys are known for is becoming more and more popular. You may not like it, but a hell of a lot of people do.
On the R&B, Hip-hop thing. If you want to talk about crappy mainstream, take a look at rock. Most people who hate these genres like metal/heavymetal/alternative/emo/somenewcrappysubgenreforrock. Okay so it's not your taste, that doesn't make it bad. I don't go around saying Staind and Coldplay suck!(Although I should).
The point is, i'm too lazy to summarize this crap. |

You know, this song was hyped so much, so I finally decided to download it. And although I can appreciate it, and understand why so many people love it, it just doesn't affect me. I really wish it did, but it's just not my song. |

I believe this song is about AIDS. It was mentioned somewhere in the NY Times and this line hints to it:
"The damage is infectious, the confession is too late" |
