I also feel this song is about depression. But I also think it is about individuality. This person in the song appears to have his values and will not sell out so to say. His values may go against the grain resulting in him feeling dusgust, perhaps he has had a few friends turn on him along the way. By the end of it it would appear that this person can not just go on. |

Could be a number of things. Possibly a Marxist look on the world and how the “self made millionaires” or bourgeois, alienate the lower class, plebeians or proletariat, for their own gain regardless of the consequences, thus driving them to a madness of sorts. Or of course I could be entirely off. Perhaps just an emotional outburst only Shaun will know the true meaning of. |
