| Porcupine Tree – Arriving Somewhere But Not Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I quite like what Bokanovsky said but there have been some great different interpretations of this song. As other people have said, what's so great about it is the fact that there is no one single way of looking at it, each line can be read in different ways and interpreted differently depending on who is reading it. That really is what makes these lyrics so good, they are both filled with meaning whilst at the same time lack definite direction for that meaning. To me the song feels like a story of someone getting shot after stopping the car. After that it seems to be a song consideration of what the person experienced as they were dying and how the event causes a complete rethink of everything the person believes. Great stuff. |

"An enemy to define ourselves" - I would say its not just about needing someone to hate as a scapegoat but needed someone to hate in order to actually know who you are. People become defined by their hate. Not my favourite DT song but I do like the lyrics |

| I really like this song although I couldn't really pinpoint why. As to meaning I really don't know and I'm not really sure its very important overall... | |

I love this song, presenting the idea that within all this so called "freedom" in the USA there is still not the freedom to create music without censorship. Great chorus, one of my favourite songs. |

| Could very easily be comparing heroin to a woman, although probably not all women... | |
