Awesome song.. I don't think it's pro or anti mota, Listening to The Meaning of Life, I think says a lot about their philosophy. "Me I'd rather be found trying somethign new". No Dex is not the best guitarist ever, nor do I think any of the members are the best in their fields. You what? It doesn't matter their music kicks ass and so do they. Sometimes its not about being the fastest or the best people. |

This may be fucked up and way off, but after re-visiting these lyrics tonight, I thought they may be about a menstrual cycle. Or specifically the creation and destruction of the egg. "I'm like this music that twists
around itself,
that gets torn and recomposes.
That gets torn and recomposes.
" references the cycle. "Longing for entering the mystery of visible." "I perceive something tragic here." I guess the eggs longs for life and its tragic that it never gets the chance or that it happens so much and so small a percentage get the chance. I'm a dude by the way, and have no idea where the fuck I got this from? |

I simply wanted to agree that this is a good song, really catchy. First heard Cadaveria with Opera IX singing maidem's rhime of the ancient mariner, She was simply awesome. |

Show off his vocabulary? Hasn't he done this all along? He does this in almost all the older stuff. One might say he is showing off his masterful use of the vocabulary he has. Lots of good ideas on here but, I am not sure what this song means. |

Great song, IMHO. Not too complex but who cares? Its groovy. It rocks and it kicks serious arse. On the bass player comments, I agree that opinions are like assholes and like everyone else Im putting my two cents in. There are so many good bassists. Many have already been mentioned. Jaco, Wooten, Flea, Geddy, Les. Vic's Amazing Grace kicks ass no doubt. People should check out the bassist who does the charlie brown theme, I can't recall his name. Others worth mentioning that may not fit here. Jack Bruce of Cream, Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, Geezer of Sabbath, the late Cliff Burton of Metallica, Muzz Skillings of Living Colour, the bassist from Blue Oyster Cult, and many others. While I won't say one is better than the other, I will say that each are talented in their own right, and add to the songs they play. You don't have to be wide open all the time, although I like it, to be a good bass player. Oh and did i mention that I like this song? I agree with bugmenot's meaning of the song, plain and simple. |
