This song reminds me of the TV series 'Lost'. The lyrics of the song match up almost perfectly and the general theme of wanting to be under the influence again is a lot like the islanders wanting to be back in their messed up lives away from the island. I personally love the lines: " I dreamed I was a pigeon Slipping through the heavens Like a seven forty seven" Just going from that idea of being something delicate and graceful and then changing it instantly to an enormous titanic force is very, very clever. Also: "Learning the don'ts of fire prevention" Seriously, how great is that! |

It's about Barry Allen (The Flash) describing how time goes so slow for him because he's able to move so fast. My favourite line is: 'Now I never can explain by the clock that's on the Tower or the one that's in my brain' 'Aspect' in the first verse is actually 'Aspic' which is a jellied squid apparently. That piece of information is available from the bands website. I have no idea how it relates to the song. |

It's a song about freedom, isolation and loneliness. Off topic: it reminds me a lot of the Firefly (Joss Whedon) episode 'Out of Gas' because in that episode you're shown the reality of the abandonment and isolation of space when the ship's engine fails in the middle of nowhere, and the in the song the signal sound is very picturesque of Malcolm Reynold's signal which he sends out into space in a desperate attempt to save himself and his crew. |

It's definitely about a boy (or a man with a child’s mentality/power) in a mental institution. These lyrics prove it: "the voices say hello" "this is boring, all we talk about is you" "did they stick you in here, cause you weren't working right?" "which you'll need if no one's going to visit you, Animal" It's a beautiful song, and I love it when Matt sings: "so fuck you and your principals, and fuck whatever made me" Only he could get so much emotion singing those lines. It's damn incredible. |
