^^if this song is so poetic + meaningful as you say, shouldn't he have the hunters say whatever he thinks they would say? why should he censor himself? are white people never supposed to say that word, even when the context is denouncing it and racism in general? |

i looooooove this song. it also reminds me of fool around and i agree that it's about that situation of letting yourself get strung along while your partner has someone else.
are holly & roger and markus & julie couples from actual movies? because i was thinking maybe this julie is the same one from "please baby julie come home" eh? EH?? |

the correct lyric is "the maggots in the iron lung won't copulate," that's what he says and that's what all the lyrics online used to be about 6 years ago. i don't know why they all say "eye of love" now. but if you listen closely you can hear he says "iron lung" which is a much greater image in my opinion. |

i agree this song is amazing. it is in the vein of other classic AMANSET songs like Kindness of Strangers with that amazing fucking wacking thing (vibraphone I think)
i have a correction though, I'm pretty sure the first first begins:
what's in the car?
a CD-R
since this is a sort of romantic song, CD-R makes sense because it could be a mix CD or something that one lover made for the other. |

yeah it's defeinitely not as dynamic or interesting as their other songs, but i still love it.
it should be noted that they recorded this song switching their lineup up, so it can't be expected to carry the same weight as othr songs. |

there are two versions of this song. the version posted here is from the split 12" with Silver Bearing. i love both versions but i think this version is a great example of moss icon's beautifully poetic political lyrics. |
