I think this song is about a person and how no matter what they do, it ends up going wrong, or maybe a person trying to make up for a bad deed earlier in their life, but can't make up for it, and is beginning to realize the futility of trying to.
This song also seems to be connected to a book I read a while back-- if you read the prologue of the book The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, you'll see what I mean. |

Heh, this song is, like the guy above me said, one of the best wordplay songs out there. Translations just don't do it justice, but anyways, it seems to me to be a song of defiance pertaining particularly to them, basically saying that although people derided and criticized them, they rose up and proved them wrong, especially with the last paragraph... |
