This song is fantastic. The emotion in Rob Thomas's voice when he sings that last "I'm not saying there was nothing wrong I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me" makes me burst into tears. It's the culmination of all the hurt, anger and other emotion in this song. Brilliance. |

Pickersqill, I agree with you entirely... I loved the NIN version, and I found the music video the other day with Johnny Cash. I have never cried so hard in my life. Having seen "Walk the Line" "Hurt" Emphasizes how true this song is for Mr. Cash. I know this song is about suicide, but it's amazing how when you have two people who are complete polar opposites singing this song, and you get two meaningful versions of the same words. |
