I have always believed, many because of the situation i was in at the time, that this song is about none other than love. I think that its about doing everything in your power to show someone how much you love them and the other person not reacting to any of it. For example the line "How much difference does it make" I think is sayin well im doing everythin for you yet it still doesnt make a difference. "I will stare the sun down, until my eyes go blind. I won't change direction and I wont change my mind." Is an example of someone willing to sacrifice everything just so that the other person knows how much he loves her. I think it's a kind of bitter love. |

This song is just amazing. It means so much to me. I had a difficult patch with a girl that I still really like. I let her borrow the "Ten" album and she instantly loved Black. We would sit on her bed and listen to this. The last lyrics are obviously the most influencial and they mean so much to me. I'm not sure to this day if these lyrics mean anything to her, but for sure these lyrics mean a lot to me. I've had to try and hold back the emotions many times after listening to this song. |
