| MGMT – Electric Feel Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Even overplayed, this song won't really get old. | |
| The Band – Jemima Surrender Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| freakin excellent song. I would vote for a law requiring every 15 year old to listen to this song twice on their birthday. The lack of exposure to real good music is sad for ever new generation. Wish people could experience the band like I got to because of my father. Damn what a great album this was. | |
| The Band – King Harvest (Has Surely Come) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Probably my favorite song by the Band, the unique timings, the unusual softness of the chorus, mixed with more upbeat verses. Just outstanding. One of the greatest songs of all time in my opinion. The meaning comes from unions organized from 1927-1935 in the south for farmers. Wish I knew more but the way The Band evokes imagery from a bleak time that they never even really lived through or lived in is simply incredible. Long live Robbie Robertson and The Band. Their name really is truthful. They ARE THE BAND. The Band is one of the greatest musical groups of all time, which is why they deserve their name. | |
| The Band – Up On Cripple Creek Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| The Band should be listed as one of the ten, maybe five greatest musical groups of all time. If you don't like their music, fine. If you don't think they're music is exceptionally great, you are crazy. | |
| The Band – When You Awake Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
amen to that, somethingphishy. no surprise though, people have no taste in music. Wish i knew exactly what this songs all about. |
|
| Traffic – Dear Mr. Fantasy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This song, I assure you, was not written by John Lennon. It was written by Steve Winwood and Traffic. | |
| Traffic – Smiling Phases Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
These are not the lyrics to Smiling Phases. These are the lyrics to Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory. Here are the real lyrics to "Smiling Phases:" Do yourself a favor Wake up to your mind Life is what you make it You see but still you're blind Get yourself together, give before you take You'll find out the hard way Soon you're going to break Smiling Phases, going places Even when they bust you Keep on smiling through and through And you'll be amazed at the gaze on their faces As they sentence you You don't need a lawyer When you're in a fix Someone gets the pay off You're friends are full of tricks How could you love something That you just can't buy? Own up to the truth girl Your mother's gone on by Your companion, brings you flowers You just hang him up And keep him waiting there for hours And you should just see the look on his face As you slide down the rail |
|
| Traffic – Smiling Phases Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| These lyrics are entirely wrong. | |
| Traffic – You Can All Join In Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Great song, I have good memories listening to this album as a kid (their self-titled one). Traffic is one of the best bands of all time and it's a shame no one has posted a comment yet. I think this song may have been poking fun at some emergin pop music from the late 60s to early 70s, accusing some acts of selling out and putting in whatever the hell lyrics sounded good for the radio, without any real feeling behind them. That's just a guess. |
|
| Brand New – Bed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This would be the best song on 99.99 percent of albums ever released. However, on this one, it's in the middle of the pack. Goddam Brand New is outstanding. | |
| Brand New – Noro Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Anyone notice that Brand New explored a lot of the same themes and lyrics on this album. Fire, stuck on train tracks, and definitely dying. | |
| Bayside – Boy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is tough to figure out, it's awesome | |
| The Offspring – Living In Chaos Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Offspring in general uses a lot of repetition. This song is no different. And did i mention, awesome. | |
| The Offspring – All I Want Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Not hard to figure out the message of this one. And what a message it is. This one is kind of Offspring's anthem, if you ask me. | |
| Canned Heat – Going Up The Country Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song. And L.S.D. Mix really well. Just so you guys know. |
|
| Traffic – Don't Be Sad Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
One of my favorite Traffic songs. This song makes me really sad when I listen to it. Fairly obvious what the song's message is. |
|
| Bayside – Dear Tragedy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Probably one of the more underrated songs by the band. Mainly because this album was so incredible, this track often gets overlooked. But it sure grows on you. That first line just sucks me right down to the floor and makes me a puddle. "Never waking up again" |
|
| Blind Faith – Presence of the Lord Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Despite its religious introspection, truly a Clapton classic. It could be said he never wrote a better song. | |
| Blind Faith – Do What You Like Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think Ginger Baker's idea when writing this song basically comes down to this: Enjoy your freedom, help your fellow man, with the overall message of peace. Basically, "do right and use your head." The message most were giving in that era. |
|
| Cream – Badge Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A truly excellent rocknroll classic. The odd reason for the title is cool also. When you're hard-pressed to think of the name of a song, i can imagine resorting to a simple reason like that. | |
| Cake – Race Car Ya-Yas Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Could just be a song about a parallell universe filled with "Race Car YaYas" and be completely random. | |
| Traffic – Pearly Queen Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is just outstanding | |
| Traffic – Hidden Treasure Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is about nature | |
| Tool – Forty Six & 2 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think oberone pretty much covered it | |
| Joe Walsh – Ordinary Average Guy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is as straightforward as they come... and cool as hell |
|
| U2 – I Fall Down Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Very good U2 song that often hides from casual fans. | |
| Buffalo Springfield – I Am A Child Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is very pretty. It's obviously about children and their innocence, simplicity, happiness, etc. |
|
| Traffic – Dealer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| beautiful beautiful lyrics... great song... i guess it's an anti-drug dealer song | |
| Traffic – Dear Mr. Fantasy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is one of those songs that is about the music, not so much the lyrics. Just listen to the instruments and you'll understand where Stevey Winwood was comin' from. | |
| Sublime – Burritos Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song best describes me | |
| Sublime – Get Ready Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Sublime is the only non-rap group that can pull off a song about shooting enforcers of the law... the anger and passion of his voice in the last part is brilliant | |
| Sublime – Garden Grove Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song has a special meaning to everyone who hears it, different for everyone, just like it did for Brad when he wrote it | |
| Grateful Dead – Dire Wolf Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| one of the best songs of all time: tough to say what it's about | |
| Sublime – Wrong Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's already been said but stupidname0 is absolutely wrong. the lyrics up there are correct. | |
| Alkaline Trio – Another Innocent Girl Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| On the "Haloween At The Metro" DVD by Alkaline Trio, Skiba says "This song is about our friend Mark Hollaway" before they begin. | |
| Alkaline Trio – Queen Of Pain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Excellent song, but anyway: I have only one theory on why he says "King" of pain and not "Queen" of pain: He is basically saying that she is so "over the top" that she's not even the queen of pain anymore, she is the KING of pain, and im simply HER queen in that area. Other than that, I have no ideas. and thats probly not it. I would say it meant that he was talking about himself but he clearly says "MY" king of pain. |
