| Frank Black and the Catholics – Blast Off Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| well, for once, a "Beckett rant" is probably a reference to Lucky's lengthy nonsense speech in Waiting for Godot. style-wise, there is some similarity between that and these lyrics, lots of word repetition, etc. | |
| The Fiery Furnaces – My Dog Was Lost But Now He's Found Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is a parody of a gospel dog, seeing how "dog" is "god" spelled backwards... or the other way around. | |

| Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks – Pencil Rot Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i think it's supposed to be "fly above my home". also, it's missing the whole spoken-word part: "i'm here to sing a song a song about priviliges the spikes you put on your feet when you were crawling and dancing to the top of the human shitpile, shitpile! so now you manage to hallucinate some things that were always in my eyes, always in my eyes and other people see themselves in you and i can see them in you to". then it goes, "in my head there's a bed it's unmade it's a lovely leather brown poison" and a couple of verses i don't know the lyrics to, too. |

| The Number Twelve Looks Like You – Jesus and Tori Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| This song is obviously satirical of teenage angst and "teen outside" stereotypes. | |
| Sonic Youth – Androgynous Mind Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this song is probably an attack against homophobes that use their conservative/fundamentalist believes as an "excuse" for violence against LGBT people. the "god is gay" thing is possibly a provocative spit-in-the-face of "fred phelps" types. | |
