My guess is this song might be about drinking. This would be the weakness he speaks about, and when you've been drinking normally your eyes go lazy/messed up. My guess is that the speaker in this song said something stupid to a close friend/loved one, and he's trying to prove to her that he's not in the right state of mind to properly judge what he's doing. "When weakness turns my ego up" could mean that he's been drinking and he's full of himself, because everyone who has drank before knows that when you're drunk, you think you're the shit. "If I turn into another..." might be pointing out that if he says or does something stupid and uncalled for, the other person can count on the person from "yesterday" (before he was drunk) to get through the stupidity of the present. "Cleverly attaches and multiples" is when you're drinking, and suddenly you're starting to feel it (buzzed) and then you drink more and you progressively get worse and worse (multiplies). "No matter how we try" is the feeling where you don't want to get really drunk and do stupid things, but you do it anyway. |
