| Modest Mouse – Dramamine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I've started abusing dramamine. 100 pills, 5 dollars, cheap-ass high. I love the adrenaline rush it gives you. This shit is amazing. The only other drugs I do are Klonopins, and some Hydrocodones. Straight up a pill popper, none of that weed, or nasty other shit. But I think Dramamine is describing a trip. Strictly a trip. The music is very floaty, and really does remind me of a trip. I'll listen to this song next time I take them. |

| Tracy Chapman – Fast Car Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think this song is about getting away from everything dragging you down, and then going out and doing what it is you want to do, or love to do. She says you either have to get out and be yourself, or die sad. By driving around in a fast car, it gives the feeling that theyve escaped, even if they havent yet. |

| Modest Mouse – Doin' the Cockroach Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I never said it was strictly about weed, I was just clarifying that line. It certainly includes other meanings, but cockroach is a reference to pot. | |

| The Receiving End Of Sirens – Dead Men Tell No Tales Lyrics | 20 years ago |

melty0faceoff: story about treos. melty0faceoff: i know this because my friends are friends with them and they're from around here... melty0faceoff: they've been aorund for years melty0faceoff: they had another singer, but he was liek 16 and wanted to finish school, so they got pissed off at him and wrote "dead man tell no tales" they deny the fact that they were ever a band before they wrote between the heart and the synapse. blah blah blah, long story short, he formed a new band called the lido venice and they're amazing. and now he's in like 50,000 other bands. melty0faceoff: so next time we're both on, i'll send you old treos and lido venice songs. melty0faceoff: it's funny because one of the lido venice songs is about treos melty0faceoff: lyrics: melty0faceoff: WHEN YOU WERE ON THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS. I HOPE YOU WERE DEAFENED BY MY SPLASH, BECAUSE IF THEIR VOICES HIT YOUR EARS THIS TIME, AFTER MY BURIAL AT SEA, THEY'LL LURE YOU TO THE ROCKS FOR SURE. NO ONE WILL MAKE IT OUT ALIVE. TonyJ just informed me! |

| Modest Mouse – Bankrupt on Selling Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song is about how everyone, even the pious such as apostles and angels, would rather make a buck instead of giving it to someone who needs it. He'd sell off his savior, meaning even the dedicated apostle would rather help himself than jesus, jesus being their "saviors". The busnessman represent the continous motion of this greed, they remind me of wall street and the stock market where everyones selling and buying. eventually, people will realize what they have become, and they'll get tired, and hate themselves for it, and they've put themselves in their own hellwhere they can't escape. Pretty much they dug their own grave. The angels refer to how once you get to heaven or wherever, the angels are supposed to be guidance, and peace, however they'd jsut as soon take you for what your worth, even if it was their loved ones. Then the seen through em all refers to that Isaac's seen it happen before. The actors part is saying that everyone is an actor, and through all their "goodness" and "kind-heartedness", everyone is unfortunatley a theif and selfish. The college verse refers to that people use such senseless things such as school and degrees to measure their worth, when really t's how you are inside, and that with your large education at a university makes you no less better than a simple working man, however in this greedy world, not many people feel that way. Learnin' big words refers to their education, and just because they can use them, makes them no better than anyone else. The lover refers to after his epiphany of the world, he realized his lover was just like everyone else and greedy, so he had to quit it with her. He still ahd feelings for her, but he couldnt stand her and her ways, but he still loves her. He "came clean" when he ended it. Now that he's done that, he feels bad, so he talks about how he used to be kinder, and that maybe hi realization turned him into a bit of a hard-ass. The sober refers to how it was before she was caught up in all the greed, shes drunk with selfishness. Okay, just my opinion. Sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes. |

| Modest Mouse – Doin' the Cockroach Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is actually about smoking weed, "doin' the cockroach" is reference to smoking weed. A slang term for weed is La coo coo racha, aka cockroach. oh my, another drug reference in a MM song!? never. While it may also include many existential beleifs and meanings, I'd just like to point out that "Doin' the Cockroach" is weed. kthx. | |
