Did anyone else get a God vibe from this song. I did, but it could be because I associate it with an episode of Joan of Arcadia. I sort of see it as, we try so hard to be good in God's eyes, but sometimes it feels that we will never be good enough. |

I disagree with the above comments, but that's what makes it fun.
I think it sounds sarcastic. The man in question is selfish and needs everything to be about him, so the girl is sort of like "Yeah, sure, I'll let you run my life." I find it to be very passive-aggressive and bitter. |

| Regina Spektor – Hero Lyrics

Okay, here's my interpretation.
The person who is being sung about has dedicated his life to helping humanity. Then he encounters either a personal tragedy, or an experience in life that makes him question humanity. Because of this, he finds it hard to motivate himself to keep doing good. As in maybe he's thinking along the lines of, if no one wants to help themselves, why should I help them? "I'm the hero of the story, I don't need to be saved" to me sounds like more of a reluctant thing, as if he doesn't really think he should have to help anyone else, but he's going to anyway, perhaps because he knows no different.
The "open wide" lines could be referring to the people who he's trying to help just giving into temptation and pretty much undoing all of his good work.
I really don't think I've articulated the idea I had in my head, but I hope that it at least made sense. |

Yay for the Kin!
It's about doing everything you need to do to keep your love together. That's what it means to me anyway. |

Yep, I have no idea what this song is about, but it's catchy.
I always sorta thought it was "You got AIDS without the fun". I thought it was a bit crude. Aches makes much more sense. |

Wow, this song connects to me so much. I'm not too good at interpretation, but to me its about escaping reality, whether it be through alcohol or just putting on a false face. Sober refers to being yourself (free of putting on an act) rather than free from intoxication. But I don't know. May have to give it a few more listens. |

Pretty sure it's about his dad. He wrote some pretty strong and not-so-good stuff about his dad in previous songs: "I turned a bit of my pain into a song". But now he's forgiven his father, but can accept it if his father is hurt for his previous comments "You took my shame but maybe that was wrong" Hopefully I'm making sense.
The father theory also fits the line: "Because the blood in me is your blood every time I fall" |

I think this song goes beyond cutting. It's more about being hurt and not wanting or needing to tell anyone. It's about hiding the darkest parts of yourself. I don't cut, and I feel like this song is about me.
That's what I think anyway. |

Whn I first heard this song, I thought it was about a girl thinking about her father, and the love they shared. But then he got taken away for some reason, and now she needs him again. |

I thought maybe it was about a rape. She was struck down and raped or something. Either that or she was killed and the person who finds her asks her if shes okay, not realising that Annie is dead. |

I think it's about someone who wants to make some old friends jealous by saying she has new friends, but really all these friends are just in her head, as a tool to make people envious. |

This song relates to me so well. I love being different from everyone else, and even when I'm not considered "cool", I couldn't be stuffed to care. As for the line, "If only I could be as cool as you" sarcasm is used to the best extent. It means that you don't want to be like ayone else. You don't want to do the popular thing, because you think it's dumb. I love it soooooooooooo much! |

This song was written for a dare. Someone wanted to find out if Justin could write a song at the drop of a hat, so to prove that he could, he wrote O Yeah in a single day, which is pretty dmn good. So the song might not really have a deep meaning, but so what? Music is about how it makes you feel, and although a message can help in a song, as long as it has a catchy tune and a good sound, it's a success. And yes, Justin is hot. |

It's about those guys and girls who worry too much about how they look and act and are just completely fake! I know these poeple well, and I know the total hate feeling towards them, because you can't have a decent conversation with them without them stopping to check their hair or do that irritating giggle thing...you know...hehehe. But yeah great song - best ND song, and that's saying something! |

Well, a song means something different to everyone, but to me this is just about someone who finally gets the "man of her dreams" but it turns out to be not that great, so rather than finish it, she pretends to be in love. Then it finally gets so big inside that she knows when it ends, it's going to be disasterous because it's been going on falsely for so long. Well, maybe that's just my meaning, and it's probably because I'm in that sort of situation. The other meanings are all great too, but this is mine. |

I think it means that someone is an alcoholic and they are so blinded by their habit, they can't seem to understand that they are ultimately killing themselves, even though people have warned them. |
