I think it takes a lot of balls to be someone with so much talent, yet sticking with the music thats truely you. They can succomb to playing in more poppy type groups and making a lot of money, but they dont, and I respect that. |

Atheism is a default position, we are all born atheists. And never was atheism supposed to answer the questions of the universe. Atheism is merely a lack of belief, THATS IT, nothing more. Animals are atheists, a book is an atheist, even God is an atheist by definition. If god was proven to exist, then we'd all become atheists, since we'd no longer have to believe he exists, we'd know it.
And the music of Deicide and Benton's lyrics are sincere, get your head out of your ass and do some research on Benton, then you might actually learn something. And its a bit annoying to hear people claiming that the anti christian theme is getting old, when you consider that maybe the love theme of many artists are getting old. I think the fact that they do continue to do anti christian music proves that the music is sincere. Theyre not changing their style for anyone. |

Why must so many people hate Deicide? First off, for all the death metal fans out there who say this is not death metal, i say so what? first of all, Benton has said he hates being called death metal, he rather be called "Satanic Rock and Roll." Its their music and their style, dont hate it because it doesnt sound like the kind of music people catagorize it as.
Secondly, I really dont like death metal at all, except Deicide, they have organized music, a melody, and awesome rifts. Lyrically, i love them as well. Benton has been through a lot of shit in his life, and he hates god for it... so what if the satanic theme doesnt change... do you really think they should change it just for you? they make the kind of music they like with the theme they like, if you are getting sick of it, then fuck off, no one gives a shit. God should be hated, and people like Benton shouldn't hold back from spilling forth the blasphemy. |
