When someone's name is "mud", it means they have a bad reputation. This came from the JFK assasinaion... after John Wilkes Booth shot JFK, he injured his leg fleeing the scene. He went and saw a doctor who fixed his leg up for him. This doctor's last name was Mudd. Hence the term.
By the way... how can you compare the bass styling of Les against that of "the guy from Tool", or "the guy from Rancid". Both of those bass players play with picks, not their actual hands/fingers like Les... at least the argument of Flea v.s. Les is somewhat valid. Excpet of course that Les is the best :) |

This song just plain rocks. Personally, I think this song is about the dog-eat-dog aspect of humanity. The "family tree" representing all of the human race. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like more sense than being about anything sexual. |
